Z's **0.9.12** LS CI GR! Spec
Hey, I have been looking through your build since I'm doing a similar one. However, I was wondering how you are able to manage your mana without a bunch of +mana regen% nodes or +mana regen gear.
I have the 2% mana leech passive but it doesn't seem to help enough. I've even tried using clarity and it still doesn't help enough. Here's my gear so you can see if there is anything wrong with it.

Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable As for passives, this is what I have so far and this is what I'm going for I plan on getting reduced mana cost for my auras and a mana leech gem for my LS, and I kill things pretty fast right now, but my mana management is just killing my build atm. " I use 2 Reduced mana cost for the 4 auras. Of course you dont have to use 4 auras. If you are using 2 auras without reduced mana cost then you are gimping yourself. My mana regen isnt all that great but it seems to be enough. Mana Leech is worth building up a bit with GCP, that inc recover rate is clutch in certain maps. As stated, my mana leech is 3% from all dmg & 3% from phys. Get mana leech to 4%. Shaard, Weapon Elemental Damage & Crit Chance are the best overall as well as for mana. Lesser Multip Projectiles is too expensive. I dont use it but it is nice. Umm dont use a claw. Or dual wield. Its off spec & is just going to not work. Use a good eshield/armguard/focus. Your dagger is nice tho! Ditch LMP from your LS link for mana leech. Trade for it asap. ____________________________________twitch.tv/tyranthal

Yeah i noticed no one in here is going dual wield, which confused me a lot. However right now I cant trade out my claw because it drops my LS DPS from like 910 to about 650 (dual wield always gives more damage than sword and shield)

" Thanks for the input. I don't have the right sockets to reduce the mana cost of my auras right now, but I'm planning on getting that asap. As for LMP, I really feel like I need it, otherwise the aoe of LS feels worse than even a skill like Split Arrow. Right now with LMP it shoots 5 projectiles, which makes it very easy to kill a large group of mobs. If I stop using it, I would in all likelihood have to start using another skill to kill large groups as the 3 base projectiles from LS would just not cut it. I never plan on using a weapon other than sword or dagger, and sword only when it severely out damages my current dagger. This is the dagger I have planned for late game Unavailable and I plan on linking this and changing the sockets so I can put my LS and supports in it Unavailable I have a level 63 Witch, so playing with CI won't be as much of a problem once I get used to using it with melee. I am still worried about certain map affixes though, so I'll just see how it turns out. Some items in this post are currently unavailable.

Nice armor! Id wear that. LMP reduces dmg. Ive never used it with any regularity. If you find yourself having trouble with a boss removing it will increase dps. Of course do what is most effective.

" The armor is ok in that it has 5 sockets, but because that armor type is naturally inclined to get more blue/green sockets than red, I can't get it to the exact colors I need (2 red, 2 green, 1 blue) even having used over 7 stacks of chromatics on it. At this point I'm more likely to look for a 6 slot with the colors I need and alch/chaos it than to waste countless more chroms/fusings to try and get the sockets right. |

Okay I seriously need to know how people are getting such high damage on their Lightning Strike.
I just upgraded a bunch of gear and even with this kind of gear: Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable My LS dps is only 1800. How can people possibly be getting 4k dps on it, let alone 8k? I can understand a 6L would probably make a big DPS difference, but I HIGHLY doubt it could make up for the 2.2k DPS difference from 4k =/ The only things I have to upgrade are: Unavailable Unavailable Unavailable And nothing other than maybe getting lightning damage on gloves could get me a noticeable increase (looking for some of those elusive 100 Lightning gloves). Please give me some tips/advice on what I can do to make this work. If someone running this build with 4k+ DPS could post their gear so I can see what kind of stuff I should be looking for I'd be VERY grateful Last edited by Shaard#1972 on Aug 13, 2012, 4:41:49 AM

" First of all I don't have 4k DPS nor will I any time soon. I have, however, played this build a lot and realize the core concepts that make the DPS as high as many people are getting. I'll assume you have Arcing Blows on your passive tree, since it is an extreme increase in DPS of LS without any other mods that it affects. This means if you have the Wrath aura and lightning damage on your weapon (which I see you are lacking) that you get a very large increase. I looked at the gems you have linked to your LS, and they seem good. Once you get a 5 or 6 link I would suggest adding either increased lightning damage or increased critical strikes, with the latter being the best choice (assuming you went with the crit based build in passives). The big one that I think you're missing as opposed to the ones here with 4-7k DPS, is HUGE elemental damage on rings/necklaces. I see people here with like 200-400 maximum combined damage on their jewelry. Combined with elemental damage stats on armor/passives that is huge for DPS, probably adding up to 1-2k damage to total DPS depending on attack speed. I know finding accessories with those stats is kind of daunting, but that's probably the thing that will most increase your DPS. Hope this helped at least a little bit, and sorry if I missed something there but I'm tired as hell. Some items in this post are currently unavailable.

Alright I guess it's really up to getting BOTH the 20% ele damage and the +ele damage on my items. I'll work towards that now.
I just got: Unavailable and it's great but since I have to sacrifice my faster attacks to switch my LS over to it, I go from 2k DPS to 1600 =( I used 120 chromatics on it so far with that being the best outcome so far that I think I'll stick with what im rolling until i get something better. In terms of ele damage on weapons, I had a dagger with 120 damage + 110 Lightning damage and switching my current dagger out for that one took me from 2k dps down to like 1350. It seems physical damage on weapons does WAY more for LS damage than lightning ever could. Maybe if I get a ton more lightning on my jewelry it might be different but until then I'm stuck with pure physical. I do thnak you for all the advice you've given. I love this build and am happy how its working right now id just like it if it had some more power to it right now if that makes sense. =P I also think I need to stop playing with my Marauder friend. Ground Slam Marauders are so overpowered its making me sad every time I play because I know I can never be as efficient as him. Last edited by Shaard#1972 on Aug 13, 2012, 6:16:05 PM

Quality on Weapon Elemental Damage is the top way to increase dps. Max it out.
Elemental Proliferation does not increase dps directly. Use as needed for CC/support. Crit Dmg or added light dmg are better for pure dps. Weapon Speed + dmg usually trumps all else. The first dagger I linked, Woe Scrape, is a good example. I couldnt believe it did way more dps than others with 3x ele dmg on it. Test every decent dagger you come across, the results may surprise you. A dagger with 210dmg but 1.2 aps isnt going to do very well. APS is extremely important. Why would you roll up a pure ES chest & expect to get 3 reds? Eva/ES gear is a middleground for socket colors. ____________________________________twitch.tv/tyranthal
