The Self Found League

This recommendation to instance dropped items looks good to me.

Edit: revised front page as proposed.

I'm curious what made you change your mind?
Hmm, never thought of that: making items that are dropped invisible to everyone but the dropper. That would serve the same purpose of items being destroyed on drop, but without the chance of ruining things for yourself.

I'm ok with either option, but I would rather have a way to allow drops without allowing people to switch equipment based on drops.
There's a fraction of players who like consistency and predictability: killing boss X will yield item Y.

This game really isn't for people like that.

End of Ends, the change is when a player drops the items.... Not the mobs. No one recommended it before and it was reasonable,

A league is just a race with a really long duration. There should never be literally permanent leagues except for default and default hardcore as they form the bottom of the entire league structure. Other leagues should function like D2's ladders: reset every six months or so.
i would not play in a league with a 6 month reset or even a year reset
dumping the chars of self found into the default leagues leads to an influence to the economy that should be avoided because that hinders useful drop rates changes
Just got to say it again self found league with increased drop rates i want it so bad. If this gets made i will buy another 6 stash pages at least. It's not much but every dollar helps. I'm just playing self imposed self found now anyway but i have 1 good item after over 200 hours of playing. That item isn't even that good so even though i like a slow item progression that's a little bit to much.

Hey lads,. What I'm scared off, as a hardcore-league player + trade system supporter, is what this league would do to the hardcore league. You all seem to be very dedicated to PoE and if you'd move to this Self-Found league I can already see the tumbleweed rolling thru the existing leagues

If people want one thing, the way to a succesful game is not to deny them that thing just because it doesn't suit your particular preference. If for some reason everyone moved to the solo leagues, it's simply proof that the game's multi-player aspect isn't good enough. However, I don't think that will happen -- it's actually quite silly to think it will.

+1 to 'The Self Found League', the league where I've contributed to the gear I'm using. (also here's to hoping that this makes the first page to have the 'solo league' guys know it's not their league)

A summary of below, Courageous seem to have a good head around what will have the most benefit to the bulk of the people.

Just some of my thoughts on what's been brought up.

- I would want to party, I sometimes party with my wife and / or a friend or 2.
- I like a 5m server cached (not persisted) timer starting at the time the item dropped but not crucial.
- Shared stash is beneficial, my highest lvl char got started because a mid level unique item dropped.
- Only currency drop rates really needs to be adjusted. I would guess that you can even go up to tripling the drop volume as the RNG of crafting will still severely limit the great gear imho.

I really don't want to learn the economy 'values' for the different things, contrary to my wife's belief I hate trading (only slightly less than I hate TV and I can count the hours I've sat down watching TV during the past 5 years on my fingers...). I only start looking at trading when I'm bored with a game and that's already signs of me going out of the game (i.e. looking for a new game to play).
I would play in this league, I work all day and don't want to spend my time trading instead of playing.

I know it will be hard to balance this league but I think it's worth the try!

by how it sounds, it wont' be hard at all. I agree with the others: same drops as the regular leagues (given that GGG is planning to upgrade the drops anyway), higher currency drops.

Perhaps later we can add tweaks like some kind of 'droppable timer'. For now though, the aboev is pretty much all we need.
