Can one of you look at things and perhaps suggest a way to get that extra 300-400 dps?

I'm not sure if it's possible, but over thinking this and I'm getting no where, and since this thread doesnt have a progressive passive tree layout, I'm guessing at what to take to balance things at each level.

The quickest fix I see for gaining your desired dps would be to grab the 12% mana node in the witch starting area to run haste. Otherwise the most significant dps gains will come through upgrading to better gear and leveling/getting quality on your gems. Also, I don't think elemental adaptation is worth it for 3 points. You could either invest the 3 points saved into dps nodes, or move closer to grabbing nullification for when you begin mapping.

I would suggest getting rid of the tiki amulet for something with MF and/or damage stats asap.

Hi
Just wondering, is the Inner Force still worth taking after the nerf? right now 3 + 3 + 15.

If you can sustain the increased burning damage [ ((Max life * 1.21)*100-fire res)/% Life regen = Required ES ] there's no reason not to take IF.

The biggest improvements for you right now would be:

a. Get that second shock node below static blows
b. Try getting closer to running haste. Calculate the mana you need for it (haste + clarity + either vitality or purity off mana + 210ish mana left) and see if grabbing 1-2 mana nodes can allow that
c. Getting rid of that amulet, running maybe Shavs ring. Amulets can have spelldamage and crit on top of IIQ + IIR, rings are inferior compared to that.
d. After that, saving up. Your biggest improvement would be a mirrored shield. That's 100ex at current market value of mirrors. With Anarchy flowing over soon, maybe less.

Thanks for the input guys, prior to reading it, I had adjusted my build a bit and managed to get rid of the ammy for a better damage/rarity one and can sustain RF with some es nodes.

Es is now 5600 and damage pre-spear charge buff is 1700 (getting closer)

I ended up with this passive tree:

The gems are coming along as quickly as I can; most are at 19 right now with some backups in my alt gear setup to take over once I Quality them to 1 again.

I can run haste but with around 120 mana left as is (increased damage from chest and trouble casting has made me avoid it), but I will look into that mana node you suggested as it may do the trick.

The es nodes are all taken (including the extra 6% one) because I am just barely able to sustain RF with them - removing any loses RF and thats a huge amount of dps (the EA nodes are the same way and in fact I had to trade my 19 purity gem for a 20 purity to get that extra 1% fire resist - without it I was losing roughly 1 pt of es every 2 seconds - slow but sure death; Thats how tight my stats are atm.

IN RE: chaos damage from titties? o.O

I've stood in the fire of a pack of those things and unless Im lagging or they have a increased physical damage/ attack speed rare with them, they have never ever taken me out, certainly I have never seen them bypass my shield (and with nearly 6k shield right now, I can pretty much take my time killing them even if they are in packs). I'm fairly sure its physical and fire damage they use, not chaos or this build would fail in Lunaris 3 like it does at times in maps.

The Infernal Mantle is absolutely the best I could find in terms of increased damage and es protection. I tried using soul mantle, but the curses were such a pain and between the low es, the mana cost of spamming the extra totem, and the deaths from curses, it just wasnt worth it.

*IMHO, it is the best choice outside a shav or a uber high ES with nice resists (and even then, still provides the best offensive bonuses among them).

---

In RE to taking the node under static blows: I had already picked up the 5% + light damage node to the bottom right of the tree - is that enough to compensate or would you still suggest taking the other node?

BTW, Is static blows taken for the extra chance to shock as well as the increased shock length?

I never quite understood the mechanics(and since it doesnt really show in tooltip dps, its confusing to me).

----

I know the gear is all bare bones and could all use upgrading, but sitting on only about 3 ex atm - saving for the mirrored shield is definitely a long term project, but I dont seem to have a knack at trading my mid level stuff and RNG isnt giving me ubers;it's going to be a while I think. lol

Thanks for the help too guys - its coming along slowly but surely.

[dumb mistake]

Best of luck with the build and item hunt!

I figured as much, just wondered due to the 25% of fire damage taken as chaos affix on the chest. Not having used it myself I wasn't sure how it interacted with attacks that are both fire and physical.

Best of luck with the build and item hunt!

25% of fire damage DONE, not TAKEN is converted to chaos.

I fail at reading, thanks for pointing this out =)
Probably didn't look long enough but can someone link where I can find the point allocation for this build?

Thanks!

Take the one Godfeast posted, it's solid.

Depends on your crit chance. Consider it an extra 20% crit chance vs 15% (static blow adds chance to shock on hit, not on crit when you always shock with high light damage). That, by the way, is also why I'd run conductivity for a long time and only in lategame change to critical weakness. 14% chance to shock on hit (+20% from passives) > 9% additional crit chance for a long time.

All of these chances to shock (from passives) are additive, shock length also.

Depends on your crit chance.

I'm sitting at 23.5% crit base chance.

I looked at another post and see you recommend a much higher crit chance before dropping static blows all together, so I can see I need to grab that node the next time I level.

I cant run haste atm due to dropping the 30 dex node and my haste gem being level 18, so unless a gear upgrade comes along cheaply, I'm stuck where I am I suppose.

Meh. It's a tight balancing act in this game.

I just have to keep spamming ice spears for the 150% crit boost plus conductivity to keep myself in the high 1700 range and settle for that until I get some RNG love.

Thanks again guys.

How is the OP's build now? Has anything been nerfed or is there something better out there at the moment?
