Test build saved for future reference: http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgMBAnEC4wSzB6UW8xpsHNwdFB8CJjwpTyycLKYspy0fL502xTdmN4M62DvhQZZDY0SrRtdJsk3YT31Vrlj1WfNaK13GYG1mnme9bRlwfXFNdhF7135Zfq9_xoBWgW-CEIKbi3qLjIx2jRmPRo-mj_qTJ5rPm6Gdrp3Enjyio6PypuunCKcrqZW1BLcxwBrBtMHFwfPDbdDQ2CTdjN3z37DgEuFz4vfkIuTs6rrsGOw47SDub_fB-tI=

I'm not sure if it's a good idea to drop the nullification ring in the shadow starting area. Any thoughts, improvements?

Taking the ES nodes in the middle averages at 4.28% ES per Skill Point, with +20 int. Gets you near some resists, some weak crit chance nodes and mana/mana reg. Leads to nowhere.

Going for Nullification cluster is 4% ES per Skill Point, but has a notable 8% all res, and +30 int +10 dex. Leaves you in a good spot if you like crit with strong crit nodes around. Could develop into shadow starting area with Spell Damage, Cast Speed and even more Crit.

Factoring the intellect ES bonus you will get 4.85% ES and 4.75% ES respectively, and it's close enough for the Nullification advantages to outweight the bare 0.10% ES per SP of the middle nodes.

So, IMO, you are better off taking Nullification before those nodes without hesitation ;)

Also: i would drop the shield passives in the left side of the tree, it's a 5% all res per SP, not that much to me. If you need help in capping fire res, take the Fire Resistance node near Inner Force (from your situation: 3 points for 21% fire res, 6% other res and 10 int. Way better)
As for the Elemental Damage nodes in templar starting area, i've been thinking about them too but i'm not convinced. You should do the maths and see if you get more dps out of 21% Spell Damage they provide, or from somewhere else. For example, if you go for Nullification there's a lot of Crit to be taken for those 3 points (80% chance, 20% mult from Assassination cluster seems like your best choice, or you could connect through Bloodthirst 3 nodes, and respec the 10 Int node next to C.I. so 75% crit and 1 spare point)

Also, i'm debating the utility of the 1% life regen node before being able to run RF without Springleaf. Both Vitality Aura and that node could easily be a waste if you still have to use Springleaf to keep RF up. You take them when you get enough ES Regen to sustain yourself with a good ES Shield

Bye

I couldn't be happier with this build. my skill tree

Dealing roughly 800dps, have never used RF (levelling a q11 gem in offhand) and probably won't, for a long time. Hoping to upgrade to 5L and eventually 6L Soul Mantle and I'm done -- not interested in a shav, even if I had the currency for it. Loving it! :3

^oh maw gawd those rings
wouldnt this helmet be very good with lowlife build??

Bayern des samma mia
Thank you for that reply, ThePlash. I've always been drawn to those nullification nodes, anyway, so good news that I can ditch the central ES.

GG all!
It would be nice. The only thing negative is that it doesn't provide much energy shield for RF outregen nor does it have IIR IIQ. Some may decide to go the high es/iir/iiq route.

But that just depends on the player and situation. Heck, early on that'll be very nice to have or perhaps in high level maps where you could actually wear 2 adavarious rings having them negated by the helm.

Would someone mind critiquing my build?

Skill Tree:

Celestial Walker + Predestination + Diamond Skin (as well as the two 15% fire res nodes) are intended to make up the difference for andivarius(s).

I'm not so sure that trolls blood is worth it however, as the path to nullification provides much more benefits and in turn you can spend the unused skill points on %dmg or %cast...

Gear:
Spoiler

Rathpith would be exchanged for RotF, ammy, helm, rings have the possibility to be replaced. My intention is to have them make up for the majority of the iiq. Shav is alright but being able to chock out an extra 30% and another totem (150% spark output which turns into shock chance, crit mult, crit chance).

Build is for lvl 98, assuming you took alira in cruel. That's a bit unrealistic, you have taken everything worth taking. You should at least free up about 15-20 points otherwise there's not much to say ;)

As i said to shaokim, shield passives, if intended to cover for lack of fire res, are not that great. Should make some calculations to factor the 15% extra ES from shield (if you have a godly ES shield) to see if it's worth it. Otherwise just take all-res + fire res node under IF.

As a side note, i'll be up with a bit more theorycrafting when I'm done leveling my new char with this build in Anarchy. New scenarios, better understanding ;)

Bye
