Post aura rage here. I will lock any other aura thread I see.

If the detailed ones move to the Shop then don't make them indivudual items to purchase, that would be extremely lame and annoying considering there were already existing flashy auras in the game (Albeit poorly constructed, but cool looking none the less)

Nah individual would be nicer, so we can mix and match minimalist and more flashy ones so they don't clash/overlap too bad. I just hope they are priced low enough to make acquiring a whole set not a too costly endeavour. I'd say 20 points per aura would be nice. Maybe a third set of auras that are more out there, diverge from the original styles and cost more. If you want to further showcase a certain style on your character or just highlight your most important aura.
Well have them individually toggled but sold as a bundle.

I think most people who are fine with the aura appearance changes probably won't respond here so it seems like a lot of people are complaining when they are probably the minority. I don't have a problem with the new auras and they do look kinda cool so having flashier aura effects as microtransactions definitely make sense.

The only thing I find odd is the elemental resistance aura on enemies. It doesn't make sense when you look at it because it's three dark colour circles. The older aura had the three colours so when new players look at it they can assume they relate to the 3 elements.
Hey Russell, you still need to make the lesser version for "life regeneration", currently if two rare mobs are next to each other and one has the regen aura, you can't tell which one owns the mod without reading their "mod list"

As for the new auras my only concern is that most of them are too similar in shape: circles with approximately the same width, but at the same time it's nice that they form some short of complementary pattern.

Out of the new art, discipline is my favorite and purity sucks.

Although I like the new auras, I need to admit that purity could use a remake.

The old auras were really good, can't speak on the lag they caused or whatever they did for performance but outside that they looked awesome, the new auras are trash why charge people to not have theur auras look horrible? Fail.

No where did I say it was going to be the old art?. They will be newly designed auras with all shapes and themes. The old auras were laggy and badly designed. The newer micro transactions will be built better and have a lot more effort put into them :P

Or... you could've polished up the original designs and optimized them to run better. I know; what a novel idea right?

Many of us who are posting here are pissed at the fact that you completely scratched the old designs, and crafted auras that are on the complete opposite of the spectrum. Ever heard of a middle-ground? The new auras don't even look remotely similar to the old ones. Auras are supposdd to have character; they're supposed to evoke a certain motif/emotion just by looking at them. The current ones simply feel uninspired, and still looks like nothing more than color-coded lines that swirl in circles.

Not only did you not give us options to turn the old auras back on, but now you're telling us that if we want more flashy auras, we'll have to pay to get them. Like pouring salt in a wound. For shame.

I'm not usually the type to complain,
but in this case, I agree completely with these guys.

This whole aura situation is a complete mess.
Just optimized the old auras a little to be less laggy, and add them back as a graphical option.

Nothing stopping you to then add new, even more awesome auras after that, as microtransactions. People will still buy them, geez!

Forcing people to buy auras just so they can get rid of those ugly simplified ones,
or just so they can look as good as they used to, is just wrong.

I myself feel I have already given a fair amount of money to GGG (all purely as donations to GGG, as I didn't really need any of what I bought, I just wanted to support them)
and I had decided that this was about enough for one game now (considering my monetary situation, income, etc..)

However, I am saddened to see the quality of the game now actually go DOWN, and I feel cheated out of my money and generosity that I will now HAVE to fork more money to get back to the graphical quality I had.

Tonight, I started the game client to download all the patches that I have missed since I left. The aura change was one of the catalyst to me leaving and no longer supporting ($100 plus) POE. While waiting for the patches to download, I checked to see if there were any updates on the auras - out of curiosity. Sadly there was.

I told everyone how great the game was because the developers were so in tune and wonderful with its customers. There was no huge money grab, at least not at the expense of the players, was what I told them. I was wrong.

Now, it appears according to the update in this thread, that better auras are returning - at a price. Well, it didn't take long to be proven wrong. I suppose it was a clever thing to do - trashing the old auras. Of course people would be upset and hate the trashed auras. Then, once things settle some, release better quality ones for a price. I just have no words.

I'm not surprised. Sad. Not surprised.

i don't care about aura graphics, at all. turn them off for all i care.

i want a separate aura bar from the cast menu. it's absurd when you take eldrich battery to stack auras, having to sit there and change your skills just to activate all your auras.

The functionality is flawed. And needs to be fixed. It's a waste of time, a repeated behavior, and should be adjusted (because a simple fix would remedy the entire situation).

Proposition:
When you take eldrich battery, you get an "Aura Bar". Maybe the bar is just a button to display the auras, and hide the auras. While open, you can turn on/off any auras that you want to run.

Thoughts:
Some people will simply say "ohhh just deal with it, what are you lazy? can't click the buttons it takes 2 seconds". The reality is, is that it's really annoying, especially when you die, to have to go back through 6 auras and turn them all back on. It also doesn't just "take 2 seconds". It takes 30 seconds, every time I log into the game. Every time I get kicked off. Every time I die. When a behavior such as this has to be repeated and is a time sink for no reason at all, it should be addressed. Also, it would be HIGHLY beneficial to be able to have more usable skills on the bar than Auras that are set and forget.
Make it an optionnnn

Swap between the old and the neewwwww
OLD AURAS BACK, i beg you devs!
