" Yes because calling someone voicing their opinion an "idiot" makes you superior how exactly? Also just because someone prefers the changes to your apparent opposition of them doesn't mean that they are crawling up anyone's backside haha. If you wish to continue personal insults take it to PM and leave it out of the thread as it doesn't add anything constructive to the discussion. ;) Guild Leader - LÉGÄCY
POE is happy good luck fun time for great imperialistic leaders! |

New auras look like shit.
I never had a problem with the old auras in a full group and everyone else running multiple auras because my PC isnt some piece of shit my mommy bought me at walmart. If GGG reintroduces these as a microtransaction.... Im going to fall over laughing. The nerd rage will be epic. IGN: Deacon_Fel

I have to say that I love the new aura effects. I always thought the old ones were too much. They were distracting and a bit tacky. The new ones seem to be much more controlled and less imposing, yet they still have been touched with GGG's detail and quality. Whoever worked on the art, I think you have done a great job.
The backlash here reminds me mostly of the socket change patch in CB where many (myself included) complained and asked for the option to keep the old layout. But now, when I see screenshots of the old socket/link art, it is hard to believe that is how they used to look. I've learned to trust GGG's art sense because after a change's initial shock wears off, their decisions usually become favored. But this time, I don't have to just trust them. The new auras are a strong step forward, in my humble opinion. IGN Astramor

@Astramor
They could also change it to the old socket style for one patch. Can you imagine how many people would complain and demand the old (current one) style back or an option to keep it? If these forums ever become too silent, all they need to do is switch some art time to time :) ✠ ✠

I actually didn't like the old ones. Looked like Dragonball. Whole screen was spammed with lightning balls n stuff. I really like the minimalistic approach. They should do this with more skills like they have done with lightning arrow.
Like it was before you couldn't even see when arctic shield was on. The spam will get worth and worth the more skills are released. |

I like them, but then again I also liked the old ones...
+1 for Graphic option |

For whatever it's worth:
New auras are definitely 5 steps backwards. I had zero problems with the old ones. My 4-year old mid-range computer was rendering them just fine, and running the game okay in parties with auras on. I don't see why they were considered too intensive to run, considering how many other graphically more intensive games there are out there. New auras look like cheaply drawn patches of revolving color - I've seen people do better art in MS Paint. Sorry GGG, for as many things as you've done right to make POE a great game, this isn't one of them. |

"It wasn't done for performance reasons, or at least not entirely. It was also done to allow people to see what the fuck is happening on the screen. Computer specifications:
Windows 10 Pro x64 | AMD Ryzen 5800X3D | ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero (WiFi) Motherboard | 16GB 3600MHz RAM | MSI Geforce 1070Ti Gamer | Corsair AX 760watt PSU | Samsung 860 Pro 512GB SSD & WD Black FZEX HDD |

" so oblige me by telling the main reason that it was done for? Last edited by AintCare#6513 on Apr 8, 2013, 1:17:41 PM
