I like the old ones alot more.
The new ones just look ... lackluster.

-1 to new auras, they are HORRID. D2 had better grafix, way to make your game look like it came out in the 90's.

How does playing in closed beta factor in? I played closed beta too, you think just because you paid GGG some money your opinion is more important?
I stopped reading here mate. OFC not. I was talking about watching and playing with those auras without any problem for a long long time, it's all.
How are we suppose to discuss if you don't even read other peoples arguments, lol

PS: a QUESTION for all the people loving new auras: are you against an OPTION that let you change the aura effects? Its the only we ask for, and imho I think its what will work for all of us, the ones loving old ones and the ones with performance issues.
I myslelf would like to see a more effects/less effects option but the graphics should be consistent, it shouldn't have to be a choice between sleek cleen auras and completely different flashy-pony-land ones. It should scale somehow.
They could have gone differently with those changes, making the auras less eye-poking but retaining their previous look a bit, they chose to do it differently, whining and saying "I had no problem" doesn't really change it.

Despite the F2P nature of PoE, I've always felt like I was playing a high-quality game with nice visuals and sounds. The auras, in particular, looked very nice and were a boon to screenshots that I posted to community forums when trying to promote PoE during closed beta.
These new auras should have been part of a "low FX" option for people with low-end systems instead of being rolled out across the board. Reducing the visual clutter around minions and party members I completely understand, but replacing the great-looking aura effects around our characters with (frankly) budget effects does a disservice to both your players and the game as a whole.
You guys have "continued to incrementally improve the art, effects and environments and audio" and the game has looked and sounded better and better with each patch; please don't start undoing all that work.

I haven't seen all auras yet but once I hit ledge during the 1h no projectile race I was like:
Late april fools?
Maybe I write a simple executable with old aura and new aura anims and swap them in the GGPK would make less trouble. But well they have to be really selective.

So much butt hurt and QQ as usual when GGG makes a change in the game. I for one LOVE the new auras and much prefer them over the old. The new are more understated and clean looking. Good job guys!
Congratulations. The first idiot in this thread to use the word butthurt regarding the voicing of other people's opinions. You won't win any prizes for crawling up GGG's backside. If your Atari 800XL had trouble running the old auras just say so rather than trying to belittle everyone else who actually wants a graphically impressive game.
The new auras are just plain ugly in my opinion. But beside that, and more importantly, they interfere with my enjoyment of playing the game. They are too sharp and intrusive. Plus if you wear Clarity and Discipline at the same time Clarity looks like it's a foot above Discipline and makes it feel like my character isn't grounded anymore.
Graphics nerfs should be relegated to the Video Settings.

I also like the aura look. I for one thought it was ridiculous that everyone looked like walking disco balls and I am very much for the new conservative look.
p.s. Please note that before anyone bashes this post that this is my opinion and I am entitled to it just as much as the people who don't like the auras.
Good job GGG, keep up the great work :)

I think the old auras were better. Im guessing the purpose of making them more minimalistic was to make the screen less clutterly and easier to see things. I think the direction of reducing effects is wrong and it wont solve the problem. I think the best solution would be to have very thin red outlines on monsters when they are behind all the effects. For example, running endgame maps with a full caster/range party renders the whole screen in a colorful glow of effects. You cant see a single monster. But if we could see their silhouettes being rendered through the effects we could still clearly see and target them. I think this is the best solution.
