0.9.9e BSOD Win 7-64

Hopefully this gets resolved and soon, cant be playing PoE and having BSOD's, not worth it.
the --nosound parameter seems to be a valid work-around, but yea.. no sounds is pretty sucky :(
Oh, hello!.. Surprisingly here's a blog post about a problem I have too...

Past 4 hours I've been stress testing my PC because I thought my PSU and/or HDD started dieing... BSOD 0x0000050 usually means suddenly disconnected SATA... Strangely 30 minutes long stress test (Furmark+7Zip+HDTune) did nothing...

I've had 4 BSODs during public stress test after which BIOS usually couldn't find my only HDD (got garbage initialization string instead of HDD model name) unless I switch off power for a short while...

Surprise!!! Windows 7 x64, Creative X-Fi XTremeGamer, Intel P55 chipset, nVidia GF8800GS graphics card...

I have no MemDumps from those BSODs because, you know, SATA lost connection...

I hope this bug will be fixed... I don't want my OS accidentally die after the next such BSOD...
***FOUND A TEMPORARY FIX WITH SOUND SEE BELOW!!!***

Just pre-purchased to get into beta and my excitement has been short lived due to multiple BSODs.

I also have a Creative SB Xi-Fi but had no problems before in my 2 years + gaming on this pc. (I also love how it sounds both in games and with my music collection.)

Also running Windows 7 Premium 64 bit and have an EVGA GTX 580 card.

Game has been running well with everything turned all the way up but then I suddenly get BSODS out of nowhere. 2 have been on the log in screen!

Went to update my Bios and drivers and everything is up to date so no updates have been needed.

Also have Intel P55 motherboard; and 8gb ram if any of this info helps.

Playing the game without sound is not an option for me because the sound is glorious. Well done GGG!!

EDIT: Found an earlier thread with a reply from Rory: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/20432

This was back in February! I sure hope there's a fix for it next patch. I am crashing way too frequently.

***TEMPORARY FIX WITH SOUND***

Found a temporary fix that works guys. You just switch to onboard sound. Just go to your sound properties and DISABLE your Creative card. Then enable your onboard sound and plug in your headphones/speakers to that jack.

If you don't see your onboard sound jacks listed (For my Intel P55 chipset it is "Realtek") it was disabled in your BIOS. So you need to enable it by restarting your Windows 7 and holding either F2 or F12 (varies). That should take you to the BIOS screen. Now just go to the configuration tab and enable onboard audio. Then make sure you F10 to save and go back. Done!!

So happy I'm able to play without crashes I upgraded to Bronze supporter. Hello kiwi! lol

Are they ever going to fix this issue? This is getting beyond ridiculous and not playing with no sound sucks balls.
Playing without sound is pretty sucky indeed.
And I'm not going to take out my proper soundcard for onboard audio, just for PoE..
This is clearly an issue with just PoE and badly needs fixing. Hopefully GGG can find a solution to this.

You don't have to "take it out". Just disable it in the sound area of the control panel and enable your onboard sound instead. When you are done you simply switch back.

But I agree it needs fixing. Onboard sound is nowhere near as good as using my XiFi card.
Same problem here. Getting BSOD's sometimes when loading a new zone (often the first time I load them).

Guess what? Xi-Fi Titanium and Win7 64bit ... anyone seeing a theme here? ;P
Current patch seems to have fixed the issue for my Creative Xi-Fi Titanium. Not a single crash so far.

How has everybody else fared?
Just got 2 in a row, one when zoning and another when trying to load up the game.

the below indicates the creative driver as still being an issue.
