0.9.9e BSOD Win 7-64
Was in a party of 3 or 4 this morning in "Fellshrine Ruins" and had just started clearing some yard trash when I was hit with a massive Blue Screen of Death. This was a nasty crash. Hardrive went into powersaving mode and Windows shutdown. Had some unusual fan spinup during this reboot also. Hope this helps. First time I've ever crashed in Exile and she was a beauty.

Im really no good with Dump files and DXDIAG as they dont tell me what I am looking for.
What I would like you to do is run the ERROR-CHECK on the HD in question and a Memory check on your RAM. What I think is happening is that you PSU is not maintiaining power to the ram properly or that one of the two I would like you to check have a problem. ---------------- But you can also wait for a GGG response or something easier. In the mean time would you please drop your complete hardware list (use SPECCY - DXDIAG does not list all your hardware) And your PSU make / model off the side of it. OS: WinXP SP2 32bit

I'm using a OCZ 700 with plenty of power to spare. Hard drive is checking out OK and not doing anything unusual during normal operation. 4x4GB Corsair DIMMS are bran new and all checking out just fine. Room had AC all day and was down to 65 c before it crashed. So I don't think the issues are related to hardware failure or power supply but anything is possible.
For the record this is the first crash I've ever had in Exile. Been playing for over a week solid. Case is also dust free and was just cleaned this week. Now I also see another BSOD thread with dev comments about SB-Xfi. See anything common here? I also want to add that before the last few patches the only time I ever noticed a sound issue within the game was when one map had a problem with the left audio channel. I can't remember which map had the problem at the time. Floor 1 in either Pyramid or the set of zones leading up to Pyramid. I had planned to just play through again on new patch to see if old issue was still there. This was a very random crash. I usually play alone or with 1 other friend and have never had this problem. However in this small group we had going there were many more sounds firing off so more channels were being used. I once flamed Sound Blaster over a Nvidia hardware issue which everyone thought was caused by Sound Blaster. Turns out it wss the Nvidia hardware at fault and there was pages and pages of flames on this issue. So I'm not ready to flame Creative yet here. They do make good products and they do try and support them. I still have a few older Legacy devices that still work in older PC's after years of use. I'm not ready to part with my X-Fi yet. Perhaps on next build but it's rocking this amp hard with the right software. Again I hope the data can help isolate the bug with Creative. If anything I would talk to their support team and explain the situation and technical details of the problem and see if they can offer any input. I'm not sure which sound engine Exile is using or wether it's in house software or licensed like fmod or something. So yeah if you can find and fix this bug there is a Pizza in it for ya Bug Hunter :) Had a fun night in Exile up until my BSOD which ended my group session real quick =) Servers held up like a champ last night. Not sure how they are doing now. Shameless audio plug: http://www.youtube.com/user/BlendaBlasta?v=bEDAMKCvWDA&feature=pyv Last edited by Avernus#3477 on May 12, 2012, 12:30:44 PM

I've never had a BSoD in any other program in my current build, but am having them galore and only with Exile as of late. Same issues. Random but usually when just entering a new area. Sometimes though it'll wait until I'm nearly complete or just about to activate a WP...whammo.
It is not my HDD, or RAM, it is most definitely something with Exile. Culprit suspected: I also have an Audigy X-Fi titanium fatality. Will do some more research and tweaking. In the past turning 'Hardware Acceleration' to half or lower used to be a temp fix for other times it ever was an issue(but that was years and years ago). These all started with the beginning of .99 patches if I recall. Now they are exceedingly frequent. Sometimes I get five minutes before it crashes my system, sometimes 2 hours. |

There is definitely an issue with the Creative SB X-Fi drivers and OpenAL.
Every single time I go in the Act 2 Church Dungeon Level 1 and move, I get a blue screen - same stop code, same driver: ha20x2k.sys, same address in the driver every time. (Google BlueScreenView Nirsoft) For the interim, I think GGG needs to allow us to disable hardware acceleration. I'm trying other drivers to see if they fix it, no luck so far. Here's what I get every time: " |

So yeah, I've been directed here in my own thread about this.. http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/31553
" Both times it happened, I was in different areas. Once in Fetid-something, and again in the Ship Graveyard or something like that. Can't really recall both names. Hope this can help reach a solution to this issue, or at least help me find a way to deal with it. |

My current computer is about 18 months old and I just got my very first BSOD today too. I had just used the waypoint from.. Mud Flats? (Level 4-ish area with 3 artifacts of some kind located in nests) and was loading the town. A few blurry brownish horizontal lines appeared and BSOD hit the screen.
This post isn't overly helpful but I'm here mostly to confirm that yes, BSODs seem to appear. Also running a 64-bit Win7 and I also have some X-Fi sound card from Creative Labs. |

" The Soundcard is one of the reasons I asked for the Hardware specification. OS: WinXP SP2 32bit

Also had 3 BSOD so far in PoE, also have a SB X-Fi (and Win 7 64bit). Hope this get's fixed soon or at least for release. Even though I sometimes have to wait for the Raid 5 health check to be done before I dare to play again (can take up to 5 hours :( ), it still can't shy me away from this game completely, which is a compliment I wish I wouldn't have to make.
The Bluescreens come at seemingly random times, the one I had just now was while still loading or at the Login screen, I just started the game and looked elsewhere before I noticed the trademark blue tint. I also had it 0.9.8 (earliest version I played) so at least for me, it's not a new issue. ... is not a troll Last edited by trollkind#7137 on May 12, 2012, 5:01:08 PM

Have you already tried right-clicking the Icon and changing the target to this:
