I really like the idea of this league since it's pretty much how I play anyway - I disagree that you'd need higher item or map drop rates though. Just have slightly increased currency drop rates so that you can craft more often and rolling maps is a little easier. That's the only adjustment that would need to be made.
And of course prevent these leagues feeding into default & hardcore. The one annoying thing would be trying to get gems that aren't class rewards but I guess making a spec work with non optimal gem setups could be part of the fun and it would be rewarding when that gem that you really need finally drops. Love this idea, and don't see why we can't get a permanent solo league, not connected to default. I really don't like having to rely on trade, but these days I'm forced to trading, coz maps just don't drop for my anymore. Think I'm close to 40-50 hours of farming Docks, barracks and Lunaris without a single map. And yes, I have alot of iiq.
Trading? A good thing Forced into trading coz of bad drops? Not a good thing. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

I like the idea, but i wouldnt disable partying.
I´d suggest a league that favors solo play. -make partys share loot (2 players half the loot for each; 3players one third of the loot) -make partys share xp -make trading expensive by letting both players pay a fix amount of currency for each trade (perhaps add a new and very rare currency: orb of trade - enables one transaction between 2 players-) Last edited by jaankoo#1089 on Apr 29, 2013, 8:29:02 AM

Great idea!
That's pretty much how I play now anyways since I don't enjoy ninja looting (which is the main barrier preventing me from grouping up and sharing my maps in this game, as much as I want to). I also don't care for the unreasonable trading prices most people toss around, so that's no loss to me (we shouldn't feel forced to trade just to make progress anyways). And increased orb drops to encourage crafting (and detract from the current losing-gamble feeling), is always a welcomed change. Would love it even more if we could transfer existing characters over, at the price of permanently locking them in that league (though I can understand that never happening, as many players enjoy competing through ladders). That being said...if GGG finally decided to add loot options that promoted cooperation (i.e., locked loot to owner(s), not FFA timers), and revamped the currency system (including maps) to make them drop more often regardless of level difference (as well as made them more rewarding to use), I wouldn't feel much need to play in a solo league. Either option sounds better than what's available in the current beta build to me. |

I'd love a league like this, with significantly increased currency drop rates to encourage crafting. It would most likely be my most played league since I love the self-found approach, and experimenting with gear and stuff.
Obviously though, there must be mechanisms in place so that characters can never get out of this league and bring doom to the economy of other leagues. :) | |

I have not played poe now for over 5 weeks, I wont return until this sort of solo league is implemented. |

I guess I don't understand why there needs to be a stand alone league for this? Just play self found on your own. Why do you care what other people are doing or trading? Is it about competition with other people for a ladder (of which competing on a ladder is pointless unless your profession is to play PoE)? Is this just a qq thread about crafting being to hard and wanting increased orb drop rates?
