Thats for the update guys... so you are saying that this Tune-Up works well only under Mtn Lion and has varied results under Lion?

I was able to play for a few hours last night with minimal graphical issues. Found out that something to do with the lower prison waypoint was causing it to crash as I could jump to the Rocky Climb and then enter from there. Got all the way to the Ship Graveyard (beat brutus) without much issue or a single crash.

Well, results may vary, anyway, I used every waypoint during testing, and not single crash for me. As I don't know the cause of crash, I can't tell what is causing the crash. Also there is possibility that the crashes are not caused by the wrapper (mine or the OP's one) but by the game itself, remember, the game is still in beta, expect bugs.

And to the lion thing - it should have same behavior on both Lions, the only thing I know which is fixed in ML, is fixed vertex black bug (not affecting this game).

Anyway, if you encounter crash, (does not matter which wrapper), try to post about 100 last lines from the log file (located at wrapper/Contents/Resource/Logs/LastRunWine.log ), and paste them in spoiler tags. Also do not include
"fixme:font:freetype_GdiRealizationInfo (0x5395c878, 0x32e6cc): stub!"
type messages, those are irrelevant to the crash (but it is a reason of ugly fonts :)

Note: If there is already crash log on forum, do not post another one, unless requested.

Well, Why I always encounter those issues AFTER posting on forums... Investigating

Eh no worries... you are giving it a shot and the community is utterly grateful for that.
Only reason I asked is I upgraded to mtn lion this morning and just wanted to make sure I wasn't hosing myself.

I am downloading both zip files as we speak and will report back, hopefully with good news.

And yeah I thought it was weird that I was crashing when entering the lower prison way point. Talked to a couple other people in global that were having the same issue so seems like it was not limited to me.

After monitoring this topic, I found many people have problem with crashes and graphic corruption (including me).

So I tryied to tune the FKNKickass's wrapper and I think I have found solution. I was able to play 2 hours without single graphic corruption or crash, (location changed at least 20 times)

So here I present the tuned up FKNKickass's wrapper.
Download

Part 1 (200MB)
Part 2 (112MB)

If you have problem with unzipping, use "The unarchiver" from app store (free)

Changes

Engine changes
- Wine 1.5.10 with AMD graphics card patch
- Wineskin 2.5.6 (there should be no occasional OSX crashes (gray screen of death) also includes updated X11)

Configuration changes
- set -gc 1 option - this should fix the graphics corruption (at least it does on my side)
- AlwaysOffScreen ON (should also help to fix things, and since wine 1.5.10 should by on by default)

Note: I had some issues during compiling wine. This wrapper will work on Mountain Lion but I am not certain with Lion and Snow Leopard

Ok so here is a dumb question.. once they are downloaded and unzipped then what? Should I drag the contents to the current folder for PoE? If I try to open them I get an error message saying that I cannot open them due to them being an unknown developer.

EDIT: NVM got the permissions things figured out. it is updating now.

Ok after the crash analysis, and try&fail attempts to fix it, it seems I have finally found the solution for crashes.

In mine previous wrapper, I was able reproduce the crash at crossway every time (custom engine wine.1.5.10). In new wrapper (engine WS9WineCX11.2.0) the crossway does not crash for me anymore.

For those familiar with wineskin, just download and change engine to WS9WineCX11.2.0.

For those who are not familiar, download my v2 wrapper.

Download Links v2

Part 1 (200MB)
Part 2 (111MB)

If you have problem unzipping, use "the unarchiver" from appstore (free)

How to move contents from old wrapper

Copy "wrapper/drive_c/Program Files/Grinding Gear Games" to new wrapper (to same location)

How to disable gatekeeper - Mountain Lion only

Temporary workaround: Right click the wrapper -> Open
Permanent workaround: Open system preferences -> Search for gatekeeper-> allow all sources

Changes from OP's wrapper

Wineskin 2.5.6
WS9WineCX11.2.0

- set -gc 1 option - this should fix the graphics corruption (at least it does on my side) - NOW FOR REAL
- AlwaysOffScreen ON (should also help to fix things, and since wine 1.5.10 should by on by default)

Game won't load - fix

You can fix this by one of these solutions
1) reboot the OS X (the /tmp will get cleaned along with the lock file)
2) delete the lockfile from /tmp (the lock file will be named like "xWSxUsersxUsernamexblablaxtadatatada.app" (but make sure there are not any hanged wine processes)

This is new "safety" feature of wineskin 2.5.6 which is preventing from bad things to happen.

I am sorry for my previous wrapper, as that didn't fix much (because of my stupidity I didn't double check if I included necessary changes).

Hopefully this one will solve all problems.

Did the second update you added and have been playing for the last couple hours. Absolutely zero crashes or graphical issues. Got as far as the Cavern of Wrath (kill Merviel) before I stopped. Been awesome!

Again thank you SO MUCH for doing this for us Mac users! This game absolutely rocks!
Crashed on entrance to a zone, here's the log:

Edit: I think if ixed this by installing a native version of samba (osx 10.7 onwards doesnt have it by default)

I downloaded the updater here which just installed all the packages for me and haven't had the same ntlm_auth problem since: http://eduo.info/SMBUp/api.php?get=getFile&q=SMBUp

I'm not sure I understand what to do precisely after downloading and unpacking the new update?

The copy thingie.. copy what from where to where?

Could you please rephrase that part?

Thanks =)

Nothing really to copy as when you attempt to start the app from the new file it should overwrite everything that already exists (i.e. double-click on the new PoE icon in you downloads folder after unpacking). It will run through the process like it is installing the game, goes through the allocating resources and downloading stuff. Once done you should be able to drag the new PoE icon into your applications folder, it will ask you to cancel, keep both, or replace, just click replace and you are good to go.
