Unofficial Path of Exile Mac Client - Download - v.2 Released
I had the same problem the first night. I ended up following the instructions for updating the Wineskin.app and the game works great now.
Still get some weird colors, polygon errors and some graphics artifacting but that is pretty rare. I was able to play most of yesterday and most of today (had wisdoms pulled so a couple days off of work). So far the game is GREAT and what D3 should have been. Complexity of leveling a character via the passive skill tree and use of skill gems is astounding! |

If I ever minimize the window of Wine/PoE the game will crash when trying to maximize the window again.

make game resolution same as desktop

I also keep on crashing whenever I venture too far from the main encampment / town. aside from that, I also encountered the visual problem as well as the mouse clicking being a bit off. read the comments on this forum (pages 20-23) and those helped a lot. but the game still keeps on crashing. will try to restart my Mac and hopefully it won't crash. *fingers crossed*
nonetheless, great great job to the OP. you did an amazing job in making PoE playable for the Mac. despite the occassional hiccups, still being able to play the game (in one way or another) is still better than not being able to play it at all :) |

I have found that if the server traffic begins to pick up then I will have freezes/crashes and normally they are right as you step outside of town.
They have gotten less frequent and I was able to play for a good couple of hours yesterday without issue. Normally if I crash a couple times while leaving town, I will just stay out of the game for about 15 minutes then go back and all should be fine. I will try to take screenshots of the artifacting the next time it happens. Has only happened in a few places. New thing though has been when I am fighting I will occasionally get a mob that all skinning drops and all I see is a red wire shell. Movement and animations are still the same but the skin is completely gone. Funniest thing. I have not hit any critical or game stopping bugs yet so everything is worth while to me. Still allocating information for my feedback (and waiting till I can actually focus long enough to right a proper post). When/if they make this a fully native Mac client I will be ecstatic! So far I am loving the game, and the complexity of the passive skill tree is just ASTOUNDING! So far, has been well worth my $25 of support! |

" What Mac are you running this on, system specs, and are you up to date on all patches and what not? I am running on an early 2011 iMac 21" with 4gb and Core i5 processor running Lion (havent updated to Mtn Lion yet). Think I am going to up the memory to 8gb when I get the chance. |

Thanks for this ;D

I even went so far as to finish the Fetid Pool (?) Quest (the lvl 5/6 quest where you kill ALL the monsters in the map) even when the whole screen was PITCH BLACK. I spent around almost an hour inching my way in the map in order to kill all the monsters @_@ So now I can't play properly because of the visual errors. Oh. And the game keeps on crashing once every 10 minutes. Sometimes even 5 QQ Any tips on how I can fix this? :( Last edited by galantleb#0539 on Aug 1, 2012, 10:42:03 PM

I have the exact same problems as Galantleb.
I have no idea what is causing the crash every 5 or 10 minutes either. Sometimes it will happen when I hit a monster, sometimes it will happen when I enter a waypoint and move too quickly. |

I ran a test run through wineskin and got this error log. I had to remove a lot of the beginning of it or it wouldn't post for some reason.
