0.10.4b and 0.10.5 Patch Details

I've read almost all comments on this thread, the thing that strikes me the most is that some people think that melee will be OP now, which is impossible, even if it does so much damage to be OP, it couldn't sustain that for long as Melee chars have ANOTHER problem which we've been complaining for I don't know how long, which is survivability and almost everyone agrees that these problems could be solved by adding some boosts to the following skills:

Enduring Cry (Spamming it is not the solution to your survivability...)
Immortal Call (though I did read that it was nerfed in mid 2012, because it was too OP, but now it's useless so what's the point?)

As much as I would like to use Endurance charges, I just can't. Ambu's Charge should be somewhat equivalent to Voll's Protector, but keeping in mind that both are used for different type of combat, it doesn't seem appropriate to use Ambu's in close combat when you don't get that Armor boost and you don't know if you'll get a crit landed on you or not to compensate for that lack of armour. Enduring Cry spamming could kill you if you're not careful enough or you get desynced, thereafter I usually refrain to do so. Anyways, I would love to see if you could implement something that would let you get Endurance Charges without sacrificing so much.

Also I do see you want to refrain from letting people gain Endurance Charges by attacking, therefore solution this could be a Support Gem which could be used with skills such as Molten Shell/Tempest Shield/Arctic Armour and could let you get Endurance Charges while you're being hit or get a critical hit landed on you or whatever else you think off, but please make it passive as it's a big pain in the ass to try to get them by spamming active skills..

Now I want to think that this will be solved some time in the near future so I can make sense of a build with Blood Magic and Endurance Charge stacking with 0,2% life regen over every Endurance Charge which should top the Life Regen at somewhat 7.4%+ and have around 3.5-4k life or even using Kaom's Heart to have 7000+ life and use Blood Magic.

And what's worse is if you start Duelist, you're innately gimped by being far away from Static Blows and Templar elemental passives.

viper strike + multistrike + splash + life gain + blind ... wouh !

Dagger and board shadow with:
double stike + multistrike + melee splash + life gain on hit + reduced mana
Shield charge + melee splash + blind
Elemental hit + multistrike + increased critical chance + power charge on critical

This has potential to become quite a melee character even without cutting cookies with cleave, viper strike and ground slam. Me likes the possibilities!

the problem with voll's isn't the mana. just pop mana potions. you'll be critting like crazy (relatively because crit sucks in poe) the main issue is that you lose a huge amount of defense from using a level 35 chest when you're in merciless getting 2 shotted by a white mob.
I want to know if the AOE support gem will work with dominating blow.
there is nothing wrong with the survivability of melee. use summons to draw aggro off of you. even early on, when summons get 1 shotted by whites. that's 1 hit that you completely avoid.
Really hoping the melee supports scale better than the ranged supports to balance the fact that melee needs extensive mobility to maintain threat range of enemies. Even with functional survivability (later patches??) melee will still face this hindrance, and rightly should be allowed to be slightly op to compensate.

There is nothing wrong with survivability of melee - what he said. I dont even remember the last time I needed to put down a decoy totem, and i've never used skellie totem on this melee char.

Whoever said physical dmg is left in the dust - you're doing it wrong.
Phys. dmg is fine, survivability is fine. (i've got 6 endurance charges + granites = ~85% dmg reduction, can hit 90% easy with better gear/determination/whatever)
~13k dps heavy strike (5l), majority of which is physical, Leap slam 6k dps (5l), also physical mostly.

Get it together, guys. I wont mind a buff, sure.. but yeah :)

Warlord's mark gives you endurance charges AND survivability via lifesteal and mana leech.. idk what more you want.

We had to get that support sooner or later, just the thing I was waiting for to remake my wand discharger in OB.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
