Just want to say that this build looks pretty good, and I'm having no problems soloing content through Cruel on my new Duelist with it. To whoever suggested the Shiversting, it works out well until your mid 40s, then you need to upgrade.

In addition, I haven't bothered going through the argument, but does it really matter? If you don't like the build, create your own, nobody cares. You aren't special; Elmo chose to share his and contribute his tie for you guys and you give him abuse? Just leave things alone.

Also, I messaged Elmo for a little advice and he was quick to reply and friendly. So thanks very much and I'll look forward to further builds from you.

Another thing to try in easy content is Blood Rage.. allowed me to rush and faceroll most Act 1 Maps.. the frenzy charges and low-life attack speed bonuses, whilst not hugely viable are certainly fun.

Haven't reached maps yet, but I recommend it so far.. lots of fun.

It's best you try not to think, it will reduce the amount of times your wrong per second.

This guide almost turning into "how to insult' :P.
So is your character better than Inval's? Still trying to decide on a melee character :)
How is Sodium wrong? Why does Sodium think your wrong? Your both making personal attacks instead of actual facts and it isnt helping readers understand XD.

Thx

I hope this lengthy response puts to rest the comparison of my guide to inval's

Inval's build was built in closed beta and since things have changed his guide is very mis-informative to new users: For example, need granite flasks to hit 10k armor, without them he is probably at around 1000 armor, so even though he has tons of energy shield and evasion, this wont help reduced the damage you take it will just make you harder to hit.

His guide is the most gear dependent guide i have ever seen in my life...... his dagger is 300 dps pure phys, his chest is a 6L close to 1k energy shield chest his shield is 650 energy shield and so on..... his guide is extremely gear dependent and he stats so himself at the beginning of the guide.(this is how most guides are, the better the gear you have the better they become)

All the screen shots he uses are with flasks on and 4 frenzy changes so cut all his damages in half to get a more accurate number.

his accuracy is 79% and his crit multipler is around 900%, now that ranite flasks are nerfed he can only have about 6000 armor on now with a granite flasks, use your imagination here - what's going to happen when I dont need a granite flask on and I crit a monster that has crit reflect.... well since i have no armor i'm probably going to 1 shot reflect crit myself and die without even knowing what to do-.

My friend by the name of smoothlikechocolate http://poestatistics.com/users/find/smoothlikechocolate.html (you can see his profile there)
got to lvl 75 as a shadow using 100% of inval's guide and couldn't clear map past 67, he had great gear and a 300+ pure phys dps dagger and max all res, i sold his gear in a past thread when he quit (you can use that as proof of his gear)
he would literally 1 shot crit himself multiple times every single day and die and complained about how much this game is stupid(he also couldn't get past lvl 75 and was stuck there for a week) he ended up quitting the game. He also had multiple mana issues which is a known problem with invals guide, and he would basically get 2 shot by any monster attack he didnt evade because he had close to 0 armour which is what inval's guide expects from you.

My guide reaches its goals without trickery and saying i have X armor with flasks and X dps with frenzy on, I simply go into a map with my auras on and my flat damage on my tool bar for lightning strike right now is sitting at 25,300. I dont need to show my damage only with frenzy charges, and yes I do talk about scaling damage in one of my videos but that is part of my build, without my damage scaling I still can say my toolbar shows 25,300 dps.

Invals guide is more based towards fun,you get to use a variety of different skills on his build.

My guide is more based towards end game content, and when I created it I wanted to make a balance between DPS without sacrificing Health or Survivability. I also knew being able to do good in ALL MAPS was a big factor (too many guides disregard the vast difference of prefixes/suffixes a map can roll.

Below I will put a # sign with an explanation to any map mods this guide has troubles with.
We use a balance of ele dmg and phys dmg so neither will ever be an issue

Prefix
Monster physical resistance
Monster deal extra damage as fire
Area is inhabited by Goatmen
Area contains many totems
Increased monster damage
Area is inhabited by Ranged Monsters
Monsters gain Frenzy charges every 30 seconds
Increased monster life
Move, attack, cast speed
Monster deal extra damage as cold
75% monster lightning resistance
75% monster fire resistance
Maze
Increased Area
Reflect 20% elemental damage
75% monster cold resistance
Area has increased monster variety
Boss deals 30% damage 25% faster
Monster reflects 20% physical damage
Monsters deal extra damage as lightning
Area is inhabited by Skeletons
Area is inhabited by Sea Witches and their Spawn
Monsters fire additional projectiles
Area contains two unique bosses
Area is inhabited by the Undead
Monsters cannot be stunned #Can be annoying on Rhoas, but never an issue of dying
Area is inhabited by Bandits

Suffix
Players have Elemental Equilibrium
More magic monsters
More rare monsters
Players are cursed with Elemental Weakness
Players are cursed with Enfeeble
-% maximum player resistance
Area has patches of burning ground
Players have Blood Magic #Can't use auras, no big deal
Monster pack size
Recover Life, Mana and Energy Shield 50% Slower
Players cannot regenerate Life or Mana #Need to take it slow, I think this is every char though
Player takes chaos damage per second
Players are cursed with Temporal Chains
Players are cursed with Warlord's Mark
Players are cursed with Vulnerability

I will also add that our end game map content can get stale at times, being able to run EVERY SINGLE map prefix/suffix is a great way to get added end game value, it also saves a ton on currency costs not worrying about chaosing maps all the time.

there is not a single map mod in there that opposes danger to my class and I can run 100% of all mods (bring your toughest lvl 73+ maps to me in game if you need proof and i will solo clear them for you while you sit behind me and do nothing.) can also record this for other.

Right on man. Admittedly, I didn't watch all the videos so I must have missed that part. I did hear you talking about microing which I'm somewhat familiar with (I was very competitive while I played World of Warcraft).

One thing I'm beginning to see across the forums (and even in this thread) is people becoming biased towards their own build and I think I was guilty of that when I wrote that last post. Even though the builds and playstyles are fundamentally different I'm sometimes narrow-minded when it comes to critiquing other players builds because I have a sort of definition of a duelist build ingrained in my head.
On monday I will be working on a new series of videos for this guide, dealing with micro will be the focus of one of them so stay tuned!

Sweet a marauder variation! I think you need static blows on this though since your resolute technique will make it quite hard to get your shock stacks. Gear wise I would upgrade your boots and jewelery, start looking for amulets and rings with HP + ele % damage increase, you can also use these as a bridge for more resists if need be.

thanks man! most people are just quick to judge and I find 99% of them haven't played maps yet, haven't leveled in weeks due to deaths or rerolls or whatever they justify it with or seen a single video but still decide to comment, oh well their loss.
I definitely appreciate all the positive comments you guys make, th's the reason i continue forward I do my best to answer everyones questions even though it takes away from the limited amounts of time I have to play

I'm not sure I understand, I don't use cyclone so I cannot comment.
Is there something specific your referring to?
dude, do your build, help people make it but there's no reason to just go after inva's build like that. It was a very powerful build at the time and as changes come builds change as well. My sweep duelist was fairly popular in CB now it's basically useless. I just stop in to see what people are saying in comments and the first thing I read is a long rant of you attacking my friend's build.

Relax, this isn't a competition. The goal isn't to see who can have the most people using their build. If it was we'd all be fighting with kripp anyways. Do your thing. Inva's build was a crit CI, your's is a point blank IG, if people give you a hard time point out the differences and let them decide which to run.
Finished 17th in Rampage - Peaked at 11th
Finished 18th in Torment/Bloodline 1mo Race - peaked at 9th
Null's Inclination Build 2.1.0 - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1559063

I wasn't attacking anyone's build, I was asked to compare the two in a previous post.
I simply voiced my opinion and stated the differences between two builds as I was requested to do multiple times on the pages prior and in game.

Inval build was good at the time, my build is good at this time, and just like his build mine will one day be outdated like all builds become as the meta-game evolves.

Sidenote!
By the time I quit playing this game I'm going to make your sweep build work again. I can't play any other character I have because it's just not as fun. If it requires 2 6Ls and level 94 to make it work so be it, but it's going to happen.
