0.10.3c Patch Notes

Not exactly what I was hopping for; but overall a positive change. I'm now going to buy some PoE-points and some stash tabs.

Thank you very much!

Why not have different leagues for different loot systems? There seems to be two crowds when it comes to loot with a lot of grey area in between. Make one league for people who want their loot to be their loot only and make another league for those seeking the grittier, edgier, loot feel the devs originally intended. I personally wont play public BECAUSE of the loot system and I only farm with close trusted friends and family. Give each side a league of their own and let the players decide which play style works best for them. Should stop most the bitching pretty quickly. Id be more apt to play public if my loot was my loot and if the ninjas had their own league to play in. Should solve a lot of problems. Any remaining problems would have to be considered by the player when they make a choice as to what league they create a character in. The devs had a vision for this game and this is their baby. They have done a great job and get many accolades from a great, supportive community. This loot issue seems to be the greatest difference of opinion among players in the game. Give people a decent choice with the loot system and if they still aren't happy, they can blame themselves for their own choice.

I certainly hope that this change is a good one because the ONE AND ONLY TIME I grouped in this game and experienced the chaotic, unfair, and poorly designed loot system made me go right back to solo play. I haven't looked back at multiplayer since then. I will try this new system and hope it is more fair.

i want names back. this is so confusing now. A rare/unique/currency drops full party runs to it and clicks like crazy while the mobs are killing us.

Farming is 50% slower.

Playing solo now.

My goal is to own every unique item in the game.
I think certain items should have a 20+ second timer. A lot of the time good items drops you can't just run pick it up. You're still in a fight.

If this is the philosophy I absolutely dont get why you dont just implement a Need and Greed system. Let players discuss and decide and sometimes even see the loot. The current system still favors the ruthless ones and fastest ninjas.

Not to forget often times there are still enemies left on the screen after something rare or unique dropped and you have to take redundant risks just to get it in time.

I dont understand how someone should ever get the feeling that "items [are] for your whole party" if timing still is the most important way to get them.
I have been playing for a couple hours now and have tried both types of farming groups (Free For All and Loot to Name). In the Free for All (FFA) games it seems the patch has made it much smoother for people. There is much less complaining about not getting any loot due to range or latency. The system is working well for these players and will allow many people to join these games with confidence in the fact that they have a fair chance to get loot.

The only complaining I have heard is in the Loot to Name (L2N) games. The complaint is that once the timer is up there is no way to say whose loot it was. When I play L2N games, it is usually with a set of friends and we tell the ranged not to rush in to grab loot. When the timer has expired, we just tell them what drops are theirs. Unfortunately, with this patch, we no longer have this ability. Without the names on the loot items there is no way to tell who the loot belongs to. Not a big problem for the melee and close casters. The problem comes for the ranged people when they feel that they have to be in the center of the fray just so that they can see and pickup their loot. This has caused many deaths, which causes ranged to not want to run with us because they are not leveling due to too many deaths.

The names on loot is something that we would like to see back. This will help the L2N games get back on track.

Thank you for this great game and keep up the great work.

P.S.

Another possible solution would be to give the party leader the ability to make the party either FFA or L2N and in a L2N game give it a 5 - 10 second timer and then the loot becomes unbound. Just a possibility.

Your GCP wasnt stolen..you FAILED to grab your item before it became FFA. In other words..YOU..as a gamer..failed! I don't see how that translates into an item was stolen from you.

YOU obviously don't know how to read, or selectively read.

Here's a memo:

GGG acknowledged that players can stand on loot to prevent people from getting it. How do you know that didn't happen to me?

you know what happens when you make an assumption?

I would value a non-paying customer's opinion as much as I value maggots.

Get off your high horse. I paid for my closed beta access, and have paid several times over the cost of a AAA title in the mtx shop. Maybe YOU should stop with the assumptions eh?

Im sorry, but you suck at gaming if you cant click on a tag that a player is standing near. I have never lost a loot drop because someone was "standing" on it.
The item is yours when it is in your bag.

Welcome to PoE...a FFA LOOT GAME that you CHOSE to play...lmao I just dont get it...

I'm recently farming with people respecting other's drops, but last patch made impossible to do so. Nobody knows what item is whose. Generally I like the idea of keeping it simple, but I would suggest leaving some tiny mark indicating that item were assigned to particular player. Small icon would be totally enough. Thank you in advance.
