Soul Raker claw build not right(can a dev explain?)

For the dex/int class, there is a build for soul raker, get phys damage back as life.

Sounds great, except for the fact that dex/int means stacking evasion and mana shield, with very little life.

So if you're losing a bunch of life, you're already doing it wrong.

It would be fixed if it recovered life AND energy shield.

Thoughts?

That's a great idea, and would help out claws a lot. It makes them more unique and solidifies their role as in-fighting and leeching weapons.

They're currently trash in comparison with daggers, as you very easily reach the life leech cap with spurious equipment slots and those claw passives end up doing little for you, whereas there's 3 named dagger passives all around the same area that have massive damage effects.

Note: It changes entirely when dagger-specific and claw-specific skills are implemented. Right now they're in the same 'class' of weapons.

Got stuck in cruel with my claw ranger, I am just so squishy, tried getting acrobatics and it doesn't seem to help much.
They're really subpar in comparison to any other base weapon type. In addition to not having the dex/int class available (which would help claw builds quite a bit), no skills really "shine" with claws and their innate isn't great as long as the leech cap is easily reachable (and for people on the opposite side of the map as Strength, it is easily reachable).

Ever since lightning strike came out, claws and daggers are no longer single target only. In addition, Arcing Blows is very close to Dex/Int.

That being said, it's not the best aoe. Good, but doesn't hold a candle to cleave or infernal blow.
Having the "option" to use ONE SKILL in the game for AOE, isn't an option at all. I'm not suggesting that every skill work for claws. But some choice would be nice.

Bumping this back up post 9.9, and I'm no genius but claws are STILL not being implemented in any purposeful way.

Shadow relies on DEX/INT, ie evasion and energy shield. Claws rake LIFE only.

So the most benefit for a claw build would be someone with a decent life pool. Generally speaking, if a shadow is getting hit a lot and all its energy shield is gone, that Shadow is already in trouble. They should really always be near max life.

SO Claws need to leech ENERGY SHIELD and life for them to make sense on a dex/int character. Life leech is useless in hardcore if your entire life globe is depleted in 1-2 hits.
Thanks for this feedback. I'll have a look and see what we can do about it, ES leech for this would probably work very well.

It won't be immediately that we change it.
