Cyclone

You are the most annoying supporter I have heard yet. You actually make me cringe when you type...that's hard to do.

Anyways, you can go back to Diablo III or Call of Duty if you want a mainstream "follow the formula" approach. GGG will do things their way. They do not want to copy paste abilities, they are pushing things further and further and releasing innovative things rather than remodeling and repainting things just to make a quick buck.

They have an amazing game thus far and it had little to do with the wishes of their players and almost everything to do with what they envisioned.

"Cyclone moves to where you clicked, at your move speed. This means you'll go further for one skill use (and thus mana cost payment) if you click further - but there's more chance that something goes bad along the way and you can't interrupt it until you finish."

^ This actually adds something you might be afraid of..skill. That's right, you must now think when and where to cast your Cyclone. Believe you me , a lot of others know why you are mad; let's just say it has something to do with Craniom, being dropped, and your mother.
You will not get a game for children. IF you want one? You can play the games I stated above.

Another one of those people who think GGG can't make mistakes and are the best things like sliced bread. Obviously if GGG introduced child slavery and rape into POE it would a good thing huh?
This game is in BETA and if you don't like feedback or constructive criticism of GGG maybe you should go play a full game D3 like a little sheep. I hear Blizzard dosen't bother listening to their playerbase. You'll fit right in.

If you want broken mechanics which are hard for no reason because they require "skill" you should just try playing the game without gear instead of forcing other sane players into your way of playing

I hate to post without adding anything to the conversation, but I would only be repeating what has been said here.
The way HP scales status ailments and armor scales against damage, fast small attacks are utter garbage in this game versus slow hard hitting attacks.
The aoe size is garbage.
The mana cost is garbage.
The locked movement is garbage.
The minimum movement range is garbage.
The inability to spin in place is garbage.
The 35% effectiveness (which due to the way armor scales, IS NOT 70% damage effectiveness since it attacks twice.) is garbage.
I thought they were adding this skill to fix the gimply broken claws shadow CI ghost reaver build, but dual wielding with this is also garbage.
Prognosis: This skill is garbage.

Not a game creator here or anything, but a tip to the GGG staff.
MAKE YOUR NEW STUFF OP.
Seriously.
Make new skills shiny and overpowered.
Nerf them later if you have to.
But releasing crappy useless skills only makes the public mistrust your ability to make good skills in the future. (Personally I know I do. The two newest skills released are utter useless garbage outclasses in every way by another skills.)
Give us something shiny and fun that is flavor of the month!
If my choice was to have a crappy skill that MIGHT get buffed later (like incinerate, which didnt get buffed into any amount of usefulness) or an overpowered new skill that I can actually be excited about that will get nerfed later, GIVE US THE LATTER OPTION!
I want exciting! I want new! I want flavor of the month!
I don't want crap garbage skills that are completely outclassed by existing skills!
Hashtag Disappointed.

People wanting cyclone = OP with shit gear. GTFO plz. Don't you realize this is not the way GGG goes around already or what? There is some point between utter garbage and ridiculously OP skill D3 retarded barb some of you want.

But right now this all is pointless with the desync issues which is what is rather amusing.
I'm already having great success with cyclone in my build.

I was trying a hybrid ar/ev duelist with an emphasis on evasion and arrow dodging. That meant I couldn't get unwavering stance so stun was a problem for me. With this I can now have stun immunity as long as I'm attacking. Currently in act 2 merciless and I am successfully clearing content no problem solo.

Here is my gear and build for comparison.

With all that said, the killing speed is really slow, my specific set up right now can easily keep up with the mana costs its just that 35% damage effectiveness sucks so bad.

I think its a nice Skill and i am satisfied with the way it works!
The bonuses u get from the skill when u lvl it are great .. the quality bonus also rocks!

the movment speed penalty was really a good idea and is from my point of view necessary to dish out more dmg and it doesn't make it to fishy moving around with it.

What I do not like about that skill is it's mana cost. I think its waaayyyy to high for a melee skill.

The damage is OK if u link many dmg related support gems to it ... but then again u get eaten by the mana cost!

So maybe u raise the dmg effectivness a little .. or lower the mana cost to make it more viable for more effectivness and diversity.
Cuz i don't want to use 4 or 5 dmg related support gems to bring the dmg to decent lvl...

And whatever GGG plans to do with that skill ... please try to fix desync first and then do the skill tweaking.

Remove the minimum distance "cap".

At least make it shorter. It would make it less annoying to kill individual mobs and it would be balanced because of the high mana cost.
Hi guyz, love the ww concept and mechanism but to making Cyclone really playable just remove or greatly reduce the minimum distance of target location.
Suggestions to make physical damage feasible compared to elemental damage:
Instead of increased physical damage per level, make it a multiplicative more physical damage. Mana cost is fine. Also, lowering the minimum duration/range would be great.
