Evasion Fun Fact
" And the doubts reign upon what I thought was clarity. Scrotie and Ghobe, duel it out. With all intelligence, insanity becomes the backdrop of the good man, and will sooner become what usurps the good man.
If you tell a truth that people don't want to hear, the truth will imprison you. What's the point of knowing the world, if the world never talks back and others don't listen? |

...This just got very interesting. I thought that 502x was bad. Scrotie's saying it's much worse...!
Can we all agree that Blind is awesome at least? :) https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.
Huh. My mace dude is now an actual cultist of Chayula. That's kinda wild. |

" Oh no, he's right. I had run all those numbers against a target with only 100 accuracy ;) Yea, 50,200 evasion needed to dodge something with 100 accuracy. And for his example of a target with 650 accuracy, you'd need 520,768 evasion rating(801x) for 95% chance to evade. Get stacking. GGWP evasion formula. |

" I still admire your willingness as a participant. I'd highly suggest for you and Scrotie to research evasion to look for those breaking points. Cyclone has made blind much more usable in melee, that alone might be enough to outweigh the mobility of leapslam (I find using cleave for AoE as an evasion character reduntant because you stya in a place). Now just need to stack enough MS to use cyclone without putting myself in stupid positions all the time.

I've recently decided to have a go at a hardcore evasion based character and have been researching on this topic for abit. From my searching of the forums, this seems to be the only thread (apart from mechanics) that has any usable information in it.
I believe the approach to take with evasion is not to focus on any one aspect of it, but to incorporate everything together. We can break this down into a few steps. First we should take note that blind affects the chance to hit, and not ER. We should also take note that Enfeeble modifies the monsters accuracy. Lv 20 Enfeeble with 20% quality -> 69% reduced accuracy rating [0.31 modifier] Max possible chance to evade = 95% Chance to evade needed after blind = 80% Example Monster Accuracy used as posted before = 650 Monster Accuracy modified by Enfeeble = 201.5 Amount of ER needed to achieve x% evasion at mob accuracy 650 modified by enfeeble to 201.5: 10k ER = 72.2% chance to evade 15k ER = 78.21% chance to evade 17.5k ER = 79.535% chance to evade 18.5k ER = 80.25% chance to evade 20k ER= 81.22% chance to evade Therefore, with 18.5k Evasion Rating against a blinded, 20% max level enfeebled mob of 650 accuracy rating, you have a 95% chance to evade. I didn’t factor dodge into the calculations simply because it is a separate roll. P.S If melee is not so much an issue due to being kite-able, We would simply need ~50% chance to evade instead, since Arrow Dodging multiplies your chance to evade (Not ER) by 2. So this now begs the question, is 18.5k Evasion obtainable in the game? Edit - After crunching the numbers this does indeed seem possible to me. Getting up to 280% Evasion from the passive tree (Dex + Evasion passives) and an additional 100% from a perfect Evasion mod on whatever flask, if additive would give me a total additional 380% ER. If i manage to get 4000 Evasion on my gear, 4000 x 4.8 = 19200, in excess of what is needed. Pming me is always the safest way to reach me. Last edited by silenciaco#3308 on Mar 17, 2013, 6:10:20 PM

Nice discussion. Generally I like evasion, much better against rare monsters. But I want to add something...
What I don't like about evasion is that from level 60+, it's practically impossible to get over 35% evade chance without using Grace. That's with some eva passives, and decent gear including a shield (which can offer lots of defenses for the low block ones) Why do I have to sacrifice mana to run an aura to bring me to a respectable level of evasion chance? Why is Grace is so f$%cking mandatory for every build? God I hate auras. Why is the game balanced around maxing out on them to be successful?? Ok writing this made me angry and I'm getting off topic.. signing out Last edited by Thalandor#0885 on Mar 17, 2013, 5:57:25 PM
