[3.5] Occultist Vortex/Cold Snap ES/CI - Deathless and Safe Uber Elder and T16's
Is it a possibility to cut the 3 notes between holy dominaton and faith and steel to get any jewell socket or sthg else?
The 3 passive nodes arent that important. |
" your weapon looks really really nice....awesome |
" yes, I've said this many times, those passives are not that important. In fact, I've always advocated not requiring Light of Divinity, Holy Dominion as well. I find that I can allocate those 4 SP else where with greater effect. All this while maintaining resistances etc. |
I'm still fairly new to this, and kinda lost..
I'm doing t15 maps when I get them quite easily, but no idea how I should progress? |
" hey there, what seems to be the issue you are facing? if you are able to do T15 maps easily that's great! it means the build is working well. if you're talking about progression, it depends what you are aiming for. depending on which, you'll look to spec for more dps, or survivability, or utility/map clear speed or bossing etc. for example if your progression is to hit lvl 100, then actually what you need is sufficient dps/ES and a lot of patience slowly grinding out maps. you're level 90, and have a lot of possible gear upgrades. if currency is an issue, you might want to just slowly play more content, and get better items over time. there is no linear way to "progress". hope that helps. feel free to ask more specific questions if you can! |
" The morale boost is enough, thanks. I just felt like I'm missing something, but looks like I just need to play more to gather some currency, and just learn. Movement speed and the only complaint I have so far, and I'm sure I just need to remember to use the flasks lol. My goal is 100 yeah, and to gather currency so I can stop worry about currency lol. |

" this game has tonnes of mechanics and the learning curve is steep. it comes slowly as you play the game and ask questions. as for 100, it really comes down to patience. once your build is more or less settled (sufficient dps and survivability - not godlike levels), it is a matter of patience. taking 100-200-300 maps per level slowly. you will naturally have some problems with sustaining high level maps, and this is where the game "makes" you play lower level maps so you can roll higher difficulty on those to drop higher tier maps. at the end of the day, run what you can run, and when you run out, you have to simply run easier content. no magic here, simple pure hard work. I guess yes, maybe some conscious effort to button mash the flask (or to use them carefully when required). but not rocket science. as for currency, play more and learn how to appraise items. tonnes of articles out there dealing with the topic. (I am of the opinion that I would not play an MF character JUST for currency). good luck! |

" Ugh I thought so too, but it turns out the minion damage mod blocks regular spell damage, so I had to pick a different multi-craft mod. Which means that it's actually not as good as some of the other options I could have picked. With my current weapon my dps is at 1.06M. In case anyone else is interested, this is the highest dps weapon set up I've seen for sale, it would push me to 1.18M dps: {Implicit} 40% increased Elemental Damage +38% to Cold Damage over Time Multiplier 59% Increased Damage When on Full Life {crafted}Can have multiple Crafted Modifiers {crafted}Trigger a Socketed Spell when you Use a Skill {crafted}(55-66)% increased Spell Damage {crafted}(21-30)% increased Damage over Time Couple things about this setup. One, it would be expensive to fossil craft the two base mods you want (T1 CDOT and Full Life). It's a triple resonator of pristine, frigid and aetheric. Two, it wouldn't work with the LL meta that SonsOfKorhal has demonstrated might be the real endgame. Number three, however, is that you could potentially drop the Spiritual Aid minion damage wheel and respec without seeing a dps drop (and probably picking up some other nice mods). I also looked at some of the new synthesis options with CDOT implicit. This weapon pushes my dps to 1.17M: {Implicit} 23% increased Cold Damage {Implicit} +12% to Cold Damage over Time Multiplier +37% to Cold Damage over Time Multiplier {crafted}Can have multiple Crafted Modifiers {crafted}Trigger a Socketed Spell when you Use a Skill {crafted}(21-30)% increased Damage over Time {crafted}(55-66)% increased Spell Damage {crafted}(13-16)% increased Cold Damage This one is probably cheaper than the above fossil craft because you would pay (a lot) for the base but then be able to alt roll the CDOT mod and multicraft the rest. Of course the absolute best would the new synthesized implicits with the CDOT, full life mods and multicraft. That hypothetical weapon pushes my dps to 1.22M. |

" Thanks for the reply! I'm looking at the costs associated with your suggestions, am I understanding correctly? 1. Upgrade helmet ES: 2ex+ for the base with enchant plus crafting cost 2. Upgrade shield ES: 2ex+ for 350 ES+ 3. Aul's with malevolence or hatred: 13-15ex 4. Shav's: 2-3ex 5. Shav's with gem implicit: 15-20ex 6. Empower lvl4: 3-3.5ex 7. Bated breath with malevolence implicit: 10c + cost of rebalancing resists (and sanity) 8. CDOT amulet: 2-4ex So looking at those prices, I'm thinking shield first, then CDOT amulet, then bated breath and rebalance resists. That'll probably be 4-6ex. I'll skip the Aul's and if I have the time/currency look to switch to LL by the end of the league. Sound good? |
" if you consider dps boost, skip aul and go LL. way better value for money. but you'd have to pump in some cash in your other big ES items so you dont have too little ES. so, I would do shav's LL, spend the "aul's savings" on shield, helm, balancing all the resists, amulet. in fact, CDOT amulet might be expensive, if you want to spend less, go more defensively on your amulet+rings and rebalancing so as to get a bated breath. I would say I think cost and dps wise this would be best. referencing your earlier post on all the wep related things, dont sweat it, your current wep is not bad. as you have simulated, spending an additional 5-10ex for another wep only pushes your dps say 10% (roughly). for that 10ex, you can get a shav's, better helm and shield and get more dps than that 10%. my wep isnt that good, a 1% increase in CDOT gives me 0.4% increase in dps. ideally, I could get 12-20% more CDOT on my wep. but this will only raise it my dps from 3m to 3.15 to 3.25m (5-8%). and it would cost a lot. so I didn't spend that.
