I've been following it starting from Shadow (going for 6 onslaught chars to 60 and already have witch and templar unfortunately) Mana been a pig, but up to 52 now, dual totems and its doing very well Still only have 4L (Spell Totem, Incinerate, LMP, Faster Casting) but the damage is great Only item i bought is a 12% Incinerate gem the rest is self found Its definitely a cheap, effective build IGN - LeNavetBete

Got a nice offer for a wand, but got a quick question:
Do + % fire damage mods also affect damage for incinerate and fire trap or is it completely useless? Thanks! |

Saw this thread and I wanted to share my experience with a similar build style. Been using it for a while and it has been very effective. Not a whole lot of downsides and you have great clear time and excellent zoning when you are situated correctly.

I use Vitality and Clarity for auras. Health regen is pretty undervalued in this game. With passives and the aura I run at around 4.5% regen. Clarity is essential since one fire trap is basically 100% of my mana. What makes this build so strong: Extremely efficient AoE damage and great zoning capabilites. I know people say Soul Mantle is a leveling item, but having three totems guarantees you are safe against anything coming at you. If I had a 5l or 6l Soul Mantle I would use Blind and some other gem...maybe fire pen...but Blind is great to have. Greater Multiple Projectiles takes priority though. I switched between increased area and concentrated effect along with increased burning and fire penetration many times. I have to say increased area of effect and fire pen. out perform the latter with this set up primarily due to Elemental Proliferation ignites which seemingly spread to enemies much further than you would think imaginable which is awesome. With quality Flammability, Chance to Ignite and Elemental Proliferation your ignites will seem to last forever or at least until your mobs are dead. This also ensures one trap will secure your kills most of the time which is invaluable. I use Fireball to destroy barrels, vases, etc. Playstyle: Use frost wall when possible to engage fights, followed by throwing your totems immediately behindit. One important thing to note is I picked up the Fending passive in the Marauder tree. This adds a built-in knockback which basically acts as a giant fan of fire pushing everything that is coming at you away. Once you have your totems down, throw your fire trap and just watch loot fly in the air and have a blast. Most of your damage comes from Fire Trap. Incinerate totems are mostly there to give you space and finish what ever else is burning to death. Zombies are very useful, even with one point (Lord of the Dead). Culling Strike, Multistrike and added Fire dmg make their damage very useful. They're great clean up and especially good at providing some distraction while you set up your totems/walls/traps. I'm currently at 84 and was stoked to see that Incinerate got buffed (took a break from the game for a bit). Searing Touch is a must have...at least a 4l which you can get for cheap (a few gcp or so). One thing to note is do not get cocky. Even if you can throw one trap and clear entire rooms of enemies out (even in high level maps), it is always best to play safe or risk the consequence of losing xp. I also use Enfeeble for my third totem when fighting bosses (especially for those pain in the ass flicker strike spider bosses in Dry Valley, etc.). Hope this helps anyone. Damage varies whether the single target has resistances or not, but unmitigated 0 fire resistances results in this damage. Assuming 8 GMP projectiles shotgun the enemy. The cast speed can be greatly improved however, I used a initial cast speed based on my Incinerate Totem Witch with only 9% cast speed from passives and the rest from equipment @ a lv 62 Witch passive. Not including any cast additional cast speed/spell damage from rings and amulet nor spell damage shield. A end game character is hitting 52K worth of damage a sec at max level and max stage 4 Incinerate with just a 100% Spell Damage wand. TL:DR, massive damage output.
