Hey guys,
I can't give you an ETA on this issue, but I can inform you, that we are aware of this problem, and it will be addressed as soon as the development team are able to. We're working really hard on a lot of issues, so please bear with us and we work our way through the bugs, kinks, tweaks and balances that help refine the game. These will take time, and like I've said, the guys are working hard to get them resolved as quickly as possible.

I am not coming back to the game until the performance issues are looked at personally. It is just far to frustrating to have such an overly powerful workstation and die continually with the screen freezing even in solo play.
There is something seriously wrong as it used to play much smoother.

I wonder if the computers at CERN are powerful enough to run this game smoothly^^

I've had this problem for over a week now to the point where I couldn't play any melee character. I downloaded the latest drivers, looked for connection problems, etc. etc.
Then I did the obvious ... and it worked.
Go into Game Options by hitting "O",
then video and ...
TURN OFF SHADOWS!
If that is not enough, change the detail from high to medium.
;)

At this stage we do not know of any AMD-specific issues with the game, other than the fact that many AMD users have changed settings in their overall AMD control panel that negatively affect Path of Exile. We can’t control those settings easily, and have posted on the forums about what types of settings they should not make system-wide changes to.
This is insulting.

I've read somewhere that they are planning to fix it sometime closer to official release, because doing it right now would be only temporal (after adding some kind of new content (act 3X? 4?) they would have to redo it anyway).
Still, if you would ask me, I'm perfectly fine with idea of even temporal fix. It's something, to begin with. That's one small step for overall performance, but one giant leap for AMD users.
Radeon HD 4850, 98,5% of the time everything runs more or less smoothly (stable at ~70FPS, and ~30 during bigger fights), but Act 3 Piety and/or some random skills... say hello to my little slideshow.
Pessimist by nature.

Not to me. I haven't touched any 3D settings in my CCC, and PoE runs fine for me in solo play (AMD Phenom II X3 720 + Radeon HD 7850). Can't comment on party play though.
Edit: I'm sure it's been said already, but I'm really curious about these AMD-specific FPS issues. I've played fine in the past, although I mostly do solo play.
