Yes, but I think also the faster cast impact on tooltip DPS doesn't account for the ancillary benefits of chance to freeze (more casts = more chance to crit = more chance to freeze, or shock in the case of lightning). Mind you, same holds true for the qual bonus from added light dmg.

Xmu - have you tried to run/adapt this build without mana leech, relying on regen on gear/nodes? Sacrificing a gem slot for mana leech is so frustrating.

It all comes down to your cast spd. If your FP is 0.32 which is easy to get then u will be shooting 3x per second. In my case, when i run a lvl 18FP + fast cast + life leech + crit dmg + LMP, my mana is at 62x 4 pulse pr sec which is 248. But if i were to switch out the Mana leech for another dmg gem then that would increase that number.

My mana pool is only 872 and when i run both aura, im left with 425 Mana which only allows me to spam pulse for 3 sec or less and i would run out. Constant using mana pots cant keep up either b/c i tested that before. I rather use mana leech and think of it as dps because u were be stopping ur FP to regain mana. Also being at full mana allows me to easily place my ice spear totem around and my summons if i need them.

Now lets say if i were to use FP + Added lightning dmg + crit dmg + life leech + fast cast and LMP, that would put me in a 90x4 which is 360 mana and my total is 425 mana. That is almost impossible to keep up the FP casting. Even if your cast spd is at 0.32 which is 3 shot, that would still be 90x3 which is 270 mana. Somehow you will have to get regen for 270 mana per second and i would just prefer the mana leech in my case.

my current build doesnt have vaal pact b/c im using the 0.25 cast spd one atm.

I don't know if Vaal Pact will be needed even with a bit slower cast speed.
It's definitely a last pick-up over anything else.

As I've become better with my Role as a cold witch, I'm using my movement speed to my advantage. This is especially true against ranged units. Hit a few pulses, move, more pulses, move, more pulses. Stranding still usually results in death if you're not completely decked out.

If you plan on playing a CI Cold Witch, I'd highly recommend having 30% movement speed boots. No option there in my opinion.

not a bad boots but i prefer one with some resists + movement spd

i have the res capped and 35% movement is great,,,

Did you try elemental proliferation with spell totem ice spear gmp ?
im using it and seems to work very well

It all depends on ur play style. For me, i hardly summon my totem unless i need backup and i prefer faster casting over elemental pro.
