ExileCon

中国的玩家 太远了 上海举办就好了
As a New Zealander living in Auckland, I would gladly take the 25 minute trip into Auckland CBD to attend the event. If it was held anywhere elsewhere else (other than AUS) I probably wouldn't be able to due to financial restraints. I can definitely understand why people from far away locations wouldn't be able to attend in NZ for those same reasons.

I do like the idea of the event and as others have suggested, having various panels, community streamers, live race event, some kind of talent competition (cosplay, comics, art etc). Though I do worry about cultural implications that could arise from some potential cosplays (basically anything "Karui" related), ESPECIALLY if the con is held in NZ. Navali would be a dream cosplay for me but her attire, tattoos are farrrrrrrr too similar to those seen in Maori culture (like kahu huruhuru and Tā moko). I think even trying to explain to someone that " it's just a costume" would add insult to injury. I don't know how you would go about policing the costumes, if you would bother at all. IDK~ Just a passing thought.
Wowowowowoowwowoww
I would love to attend!

"discounted hotel rooms for attendees" - definitely an absolute must.

"various tickets options to meet different budgets" - really need an affordable ticket option,
considering that if a fan makes the decision to indeed attend.. quite a bit of $$$ is going to be
spent on travel and accommodations.

Making it affordable for all fans is the way to go.
About time for a game convention in this part of the World. An excellent opportunity to showcase the industry in and environment of NZ. Hyped!

I'm from the EU but I'd think this would be best held in somewhere in the US. Plane ticket prices are like 1/3rd of the price for EU people than to go to NZ and of much cheaper for US people which I'd guess is most people.

I'd go if it were in the US.

The options in the reply form are a bit wonky, I think. I chose "I'd like to go, but I probably won't be able to." Saying, "I plan to attend, but it depends a bit on timing and money." seemed a little strong, considering we haven't yet committed to travel dates, and those depend somewhat on our jobs.

We were already talking about taking a trip to NZ again next year (we went a couple years ago), and Auckland is on our list of cities to spend some time in. Just not sure if we'll be able to work the timing to make it.

Is this a multi-day event? How many days are we talking about here? Can I just pay for 1 or 2 days? Do uninterested spouses get in free? Is there a spa or something on site to serve as daycare for them? :) These are important questions!!

This sounds amazing! <-- my overall reaction.

My Insight: Talk to airline, hotels, and commissaries, prior to booking something like this. Get an idea. This goes for both first time Com goers and holders. One bad CON can kill it for everyone.

I LOVE you are letting your community dictate but you know we are down for this, its like an alpha announcement. make it happen and do not disappoint. you have the points . Ill be there within the proper time frame unless collapse.

I live in NZ so I will be there no worries about that.
I'd love to go ... but I won't enter any competitions, seeing I could drive a few minutes instead of fly!
super excited for this :)
