My 1st 6L with 15 fusings !!! Got it with +1% quality
No 5L (it was my goal...)

1st try 7 days ago: 550 fusings on 0 quality: 4x 5 Link.

2nd try today: 1128 fusings, around 6000 blacksmith whetstones.

At the very beginning i tried:

650 times with 5% quality: 6x 5L

than

50 tries with 10% quality: 1x 5L

than

around 80 tries with 20% quality: Boom!!

1150 fusing

6x5L

1x player mad and about to quit

bleh don't blame you one iota.

Didn't count but about 150~ jewels and 30~ fusings. Was aiming for 5 link, got lucky :)
