That isn't even remotely close to how it actually works. For starters, you will never see a 6L in any form except a backwards S; two of your alleged seven links are impossible.

This is exactly what i wrote at point (2).

The 5L data agree with the theory.

The 6L do not, but this can be due to lack of scientificity in collecting data, since you have no control on who perform experiments. Maybe some experiments are just not being posted since they are waiting for a 6L to make the report.

A 5L in a 5S should have p = 1/256, a little bit less of a 5L on a 6S.

The only information this thread is telling me is to avoid crafting at all cost. And to just save my currency and buy what I need. I've never been one to play the lottery.

I wasn't going to give up but I'm going to play in the new hc league when it comes out so I guess I just ran out of time to get my 6 link. Here are my results:

(please don't troll me on why I'm rolling on this bad chest it was good enough for my purposes and got the job done so I wanted to 6 link it since its what I used since early in open):




2707 fuse orbs spent on my chest. Results:

0 -->6 link.

20 --> 5 link.


I tracked the results as I knew it would take a lot. I had hoped to get there by 2k when I started, it was a failed hope.

My method was to save up several hundred 300-500 over 1-4 weeks, then roll until I hit a 5 link, restock and roll until I hit a 5 link etc., I still have quite a few fuses left but I avoid rolling to zero and not even having a 5 link, so I won't spend them in a last ditch effort.

Like I said I wasn't just going to give up but seeing as how a new league is starting I'm basically done since I won't be investing anymore time on regular hc. So I guess as a practical matter I'm giving up now.

The amount of wealth I put into trying to make the chest is probably more than a dozen hc deaths, so I learned my lesson I won't be attempting a 6 link anytime in the future.

Well, after another 250 fusings or so spent this time on my previous armor I finally gave up fully and just started selling some of my acquired gear and exchanging currencies around. Now I am sporting these:



Though both of these cost quite a bit, but compared to the currency in fusings I spent on my gear so far with no success and the amount I would have more than likely spent...it was worth every Exalted Orb. And in case you were wondering...only took 100 Chromatic Orbs to get those colors on the armor although when I got them I have to chuckle a bit at how straight and even they were. :P

spent 300+ jwl to try to 6S an armor without succes, with 20%Q i succed with only 2 jwl. Guess it is similar also for fus.
