Stuck on a loading screen

For the first time I have encountered this apparently common problem of being "stuck at the loading screen". In my case I could not get into the Forest Encampment after restarting following an out of memory crash. I tried various things but stumbled across a solution which worked for me.

It may not work for all cases but I offer it as a possible fix.

Switch off Full Screen mode in your Options and run in windowed mode. Worked like a charm and I was then able to switch back to full screen mode and continue on.

The recipe. Well, another one of:
1) Change server.
2) Move char to some other place, like another act's starting town.
3) Change server back.
4) Log in and SIT WHERE U ARE for at least 15-20 minutes.
5) Try to enter "cursed place" again.

It worked for my wife.

Same here. Can't login with my old character. Haven't logged with it for a long time.

Its impossible to play this game like this. Cant log in with my usual char. Had to create a new one so i could connect. Hope this can be solved fast.

I'm stuck as well, and I swear it's getting worse.

Just started tonight and everything was going smooth. I made a 2nd character to try out HC and as soon as I went to enter the Shore .... zone I became stuck.

Tried logging into Europe, same thing. Jumped on other character and zoned, now she's stuck. I deleted both characters, made a new toon. I couldn't logon to the American servers even with a new toon but was able to logon to the European servers. Again, as soon as I went to load into the Shore zone, stuck again. Btw, I made sure to create a new instance before attempting to zone into this zone.

On my 2nd day, using portals or switching instances - loading hell and disconnect.

Have to login and retry sometimes 5x in a row.

I, too, am affected by this bug. I just created a character and can log in after trying to re-enter the Encampment. Loading screen forever at the login, you know the deal.

What little I've played was excellent, but I don't want to have to keep creating new characters just to play the game.

When I log in everything works fine and the character selection screen works too its when I start the game its a constant black screen. I can hear sound and move my character but I just can't see anything. When I turn shadows off it gets worst and when I turn them on it gets a little better but the terrain and rain keep flashing I have all my drives up to date. MS Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP2 Pentium Dual-Core CPU T4200 @ 2.00GHz, 3.0GB RAM

I got around this bug finally last night - freezing at load screen.

Mine was due to my Xfinity modem.

I just got xfinity in the last couple of months and haven't bothered to really look at the modem until last night.

Turning off the firewall in the modem fixed it for me.

Hope this helps some of you, I know it was pretty frustrating for me.

My OS (Window) report that "exception - out of memory" and the game is stuck on loading screen :(
Maybe the game need to much memory and it can't recovery memory when it's running?
