Stuck on a loading screen

same problem : after the hot fix i was encountering vast lagpikes i've never had before even in a like configuration (party of 4)...
disconnected entering the church, then keep on trying to login without success (always dark screen on loading, only one time get to a static/freezed view of my character inside church.).

hope you'll solve this ^^.

First time seeing this bug for me. I was able to resolve it with the PackCheck Content command mentioned earlier. This happened when porting to the Forest Encampment.

im stuck in forest after major spawning of skeletons and invasion of monkeys. got a lag and crashed. loading screen doesnt seem to disapear for my 1st char although tried your advices. help! My easter holiday comes to an end very soon!

I don´t know if it will help solving Loading Issues - but i just wanted to suggest the following Procrdure (Helped me solve my disconnect Problems (much less now) and also Loading (taking too long) problems, and even the sound lags have gotten much better, Maybe it could help you as well.

The following System Drivers are essential for the Game to run more smoothly

1. Update your Sound Drivers (Chip or Soundcard)
2. UPDATE your CHIP SET DRIVERS (had a huge impact on my System) - mine is an Intel Chipset

3. This could be maybe the most important one

Update your NETWORK DRIVERS ( for your Ethernet or LAN Network Card) This nearly solved all of my lag Problems.

Just ran into this problem on my main... I was in Dark Forest when I got d/c'd now I can't get back on the character.

EDIT: Problem fixed. Town was emptied and I was able to log back in.

I'm having the problem where the first loading screen never goes away and I can't/haven't played the game at all (only thing you're able to do is open the skills window). Someone else in this thread said they got it working by going fullscreen but that didn't do anything for me... is there a fix for this?

amendment: I got it to display the very first frame and I saw my new level 1 character standing on a beach next to some guy with a quest but couldn't do anything but open (and close!) the skills window

I experienced the "stuck on a loading screen" problem yesterday, after unexpectedly being disconnected from the game.
Restarting the game didn't fix my problem. I turned off my computer and returned to the game a little later and everything was working fine.

I did not get any error messages at any point.

I've just had a friend have this "stuck on a loading screen" issue.

The client crashed when he was typing in Local chat, and clicked on the button to change the chat mode to Party.

When he restarted the client, he logged back into his account but is unable to load his character. His character is in the Encampment and the client sits on the loading screen.

We've tried the suggestion of logging into the American server and then back into the European server. This has not solved the issue.

He created another character (I suggested maybe logging in with another would then allow him to log back in with his main character - this didn't work) and this character cannot enter the Encampment from the beach.

We tried logging in with his main character on the American server, running out to the Terraces and running back in, using the Ctrl-click suggestion on the doorways to create new instances. This has not helped.

I'm not certain what else to try.

If we wait long enough will it just correct itself, once the instance has expired, or will it stay like this until we find a manual fix/workaround?

Would you be able to post System Specs and what ISP you are using? It sounds like the game is taking too long to load because of high settings, and so is timing out, thinking you've disconnected?

My ISP is Verizon FiOS - haven't had trouble gaming with it in the past!

highlights are that I'm running XP SP3 on a '06 MacBook Pro with a Radeon X1600 with Omega drivers... pretty old rig here, wouldn't be surprised if I didn't make the cut :(
