What exactly is considered veteran? I've been a member for almost a year, and posted once or twice before beta began. Am I considered veteran?

This. I have been following this game since the beginning of 2011, just do not have time to actively participate in forums. What is the definition of a 'veteran'? It is of course splendid idea to let more interested people in first, at least to some extend - number of players invited who are not active since their registration day is ridiculous.

Give me a definition of 'veteran' please

Please don't be disappointed if you don't personally receive a key quickly. We want to let everyone in, but we're following a careful plan of scaling up our servers over the next few months. There is still plenty of content to be added to the game (as the current testers can attest to, despite their awesomely positive posts). When you do join, it'll be even better than it is now.

this point make me feel better xD

Thanks Chris! Sounds great can't wait to play
Me too.
This game will rock hoping for a beta invite.
When i found out about his game, the way the pvp works, the way the micro transactions work, and the overall excellence of the ideas in the game engine and how items work i almost creamed. Followed by a trip to amazon to cancel my d3 preorder :P

Here hoping for a beta key, but alas none yet :'(

Guess there are a lot of people in the same boat :)

I think you're doing quite well for a first big mmo project for such a small indie studio.

Ahh! Quick! Edit your post before you're caught! As the FAQ says, they hate it being called an MMO. :P

Well, it *is* a project of mmo-size proportions, that's why I compared the implementation project to that of mmo's. But you're right, the game itself is definitely not an mmo!

We would probably need around 50 more servers to let everyone in right now.

Hey, Chris? The cattle coming through this forum mooing about how much they want beta keys are annoying, yes.

But the whole fact that you completely didn't anticipate the response and have little idea what to do with them all? Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's a mistake on your part bro.

This whole process is a learning experience for everyone! That's the challenge of being a small indie studio. We've been trying to take everyone's views into consideration when planning how to react to feedback. It's never going to be exactly how everyone wants it, unfortunately, because of the nature of such a small scale beta (at least at first). How do you suggest we do things differently?

Honestly? The way I would have done it? By IP block/region. This assumes that you've logged the IP addresses of forum users. You'd also have to have something that determines who is from where. But by doing it regionally you can do research on ping times and discover how various groups respond to various servers. It also eliminates "I WANT MY KEEEEY" because everyone's order is pre-set; you can simply announce "Okay, people from NZ and AU in now, next we do Eurozone, next the Eastern Seaboard, next the Midwest and West, finally we do the rest of the world". If large waves are a problem you just break the IP blocks into smaller chunks.

Of course you're locked in to your current course at the moment. The only real advice I have is to get to open beta as fast as possible, perhaps even turn this beta into an open one. The current situation WILL continue until everyone is in.
NotSorry: Bot d3 for cash, play POE all day

CaptainBurns: The game is just a means by which to kill things.
