Ethereal Knives Low-HP High DPS build - Easy to Understand for New Players!(In-Depth)(VIDEO)(Fun SC)

Lvl 65 and just finished up Vaal. Ez as pie.

EK currently at 3.8k dps
2x Beartrap gems both at 29k dps

I do get instagibbed by reflect if I'm not paying attention. Oh well, melting bosses more than makes up for it.

Oh and chaos 1 shots me too, also when I'm not paying attention, though I usually throw my brotem down when I'm on a chaos heavy map.

I have 9 points open to allocate as I am still deciding where I want to go with my late game build.

Edit, randomly decided to use divine orb on my andi ring. Good roll if I do say so myself.

Good christ 29k dps! I'm really seeing some great potential for this build as some sort of specialty speed-farming build for specific bosses where you won't run into reflect/chaos mobs.

I can tell you right now that this build works wonders in any party setup with tanks in front. 95% of the time I am the highest DPS character in any given party, be it random or with my personal group of gamer friends. The ability to take out bosses quickly and effectively makes for snappy runs of what should lengthy boss fights.

Vaal for example, dies in under a minute with a full party and my bear traps along with everyone else's dps. I'm just on the cusp of attempting maps on this character so I'll report back as to how that goes.

I'm considering changing my gem placement around and doing a 3rd or 4th beartrap on my 5L(hopefully 6L soon), bringing EK to one of the 4 link items.

Yeah :D For farming I put IIQ/IIR instead of Chaos/Fire, and the dps is still like 3800. Its not bad. I just got a wicked new caster dagger with 37% spell damage, 80% global crit chance and 29% crit chance.

Edit, full current stats in cruel act 3 with proper gear on is:

HP 1254
Mana 1193 (996 Reserved for auras)
Regen 80.7 Mana/sec
Resists
-Fire 76%
-Cold 76%
-Lightning 72%
-Chaos -20% <_<
Evade 1661
Armor 1110 with Molten Shell
EK Dps 1221.8
Bear Trap Dps 5826.2
Auras Hatred/Purity/Clarity/Discipline

can you please point out how many mana regen nodes you have grabbed to get 80/sec regen. i am at 19 currently and have a cluster of 3 nodes of 20% each that i plan to grab between duelist and iron grip/totem buff area. but i do not see any more regen nodes around.
Shitysushi - Arrow shooting build.
Sendeliriante - hollow palmer
Certainly sir, mostly its a mix of gear / Clarity, and since that post I have changed gear quite a bit (see recent gear post by me).

My Clarity is 11.9 Mana per second, but with the Inner Force cluster I get 30% more mana regen from it. Plus
giving me 39% mana regen.

I actually have only 1 Mana regen node, Prestidigitation near the Templar starting area (coupled with 6% cast speed). I have 320 Intellect off Gear and spec.

I can swap for even more mana regen, but with EK and Mana Leech, and 85 Mana per sec when EK costs 68, theres no point to.
i got my regen up to 32 by taking nodes and it helps a bit. i would like to run mroe than 2 auras and level my clarity a bit more.... but i am also beginning t owonder if i need to go work on my hp next instead. thanks for your help

4 Auras and the ability to cast like any spells still is awesome.

Just FYI 29k on bear trap is nothing special at this level, every caster build would have about this much at 65. Also regular EK build dps is actually pretty similar to this with great deal of advantages over this one (like the ability to survive after you hit a reflect mob once), so this is just a fun build.

Interesting, is there a resource on what an "average" or "good" dps is?
I actually respeced my points to the duelist tree so I get a free reset. I am most likely specing out of the low-life build.

This build has much more damage over any other caster type until around 65+ probably closer to 70 where regular builds start to equate. If anyone can match this dps at 65, then good for you, you have a sick build/gear that I am highly interested in. It's pretty hard to achieve what dual redbeak does to bear trap at 65.

The beauty of this build I found is that it's so easy to level once you're properly equipped, and it doesn't even take much to get equipped.

As a buddy of mine said on ventrilo, "this build does damage for no reason." -it's true.

My shadow is unfortunately turning away from this build due to the new cyclone(whirlwind) gem coming out next week. Thank you for the fun times, and for sharing this build. I enjoyed randomly getting 1 shotted by reflect mobs off screen :)
