Donald Trump and US politics
" Hillary, soros, the polestas, the de rothschilds, the sinclairs/bush crime dynasty, et fucking alia all belong in prison. These are bottom-of-the-barrel worthless scum, and nothing they could possibly inflict on the country is worth allowing them the freedom to commit crimes, yet walk free. Sometimes I wonder if guys like that ^ are just people on the left pretending to be insane to make the right look bad. Then I remember, no, that's just what today's right has become.
Sigh. |

Yup, that's all you got right?
No talking points, no facts, no logic, no stance or viewpoint or ethos or moral high ground, nope - just puerile dogshit you think is an acceptable substitute for civility. No wonder the left needs to steal elections and give away working peoples' money to get voted in. Last edited by Orca_Orcinus#3543 on Aug 29, 2017, 11:58:26 PM

That's all you got, right, puerile invective and inane name-calling?
Got any facts or anything at all to contribute? Yeah- thought not. There's a reason people are voting out Democrats at a rate not seen since the Civil war... |

"Good catch. So more accurately, at least one firearm was discharged towards someone wielding an aerosol flamethrower in the path of stairway traffic, who probably wasn't shot. I hope the shooter is acquitted. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. " I have no idea why or what you think I'm cherry picking. What I replied to was not (as far as I can tell) taken out of context or misrepresented in any way. I replied to your statement exactly as you intended it (again, as far as I can tell). As always, I'm attempting to have an honest conversation. I also think my response is perfectly relevant to what you said. The whole "center somehow" falls apart with an accurate understanding of the parties. As I've said a few times now, the center between sanity and insanity is not a reasonable middle ground. It's still insane. I'd leave the idea of center-anything out of the question entirely. Bias matters and should be understood and factored in, but factual reporting is far more important. This is especially true for the right, where options for factual reporting are incredibly scarce. Being closer to the center is by no means an indicator of quality. A source that leans further left like MSNBC is not necessarily an inferior source to one that doesn't lean as far left like the New York Times. That would only be true if there was something inherently wrong with leaning left. Going back to my earlier example, being biased against a shit sandwich is only being reasonable. Following your rule, an excellent source like MSNBC would instantly be thrown out for not being centre-anything. Sure, they're anti-Trump, but almost all of us are anti-cancer and I rarely hear anyone bitch about that bias. If a bias is perfectly justified, advocating against it is unreasonable. |

"*googles for five minutes* https://www.reuters.com/article/us-trade-nafta-mexico-planb-idUSKCN1B92MA I looked real hard for an "anti-American" slant, and I didn't see one. Would have been pretty easy, since the article was on Mexican officials who have disagreements with the US government. Would you have preferred that their words and activities were left unreported? So, yeah, not every single thing they release. I think the most you could claim is a very slight left bias, but that would be a tricky sell, probably relying on an in-depth bias-through-omission analysis rather than direct bias... and even then I doubt I'd buy it. You know you're /leftypol/ when you think Wikileaks publishing 100% real emails is right-wing propaganda.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
