[0.10.3b HC]Piercing Lightning Arrow Bow Marauder [The Dynamo][Advanced]
THIS BUILD IS NOT FRIENDLY TO NEW/MODERATE PLAYERS. You MUST be able to deal with chargers, you MUST be able to avoid hits from things like endgame maps brutus, you CANNOT use granites with acrobatics.
NOTE: Drop an HP node for point blank. I'm too lazy to update the links. Fun Fact: When zoomed out, the passive tree for this build resembles the shape of a Bow. This build is more designed to be respecced into from another bowrauder build once you have a high enough level, rather than to be made from the start. I said i was going to keep this build a secret (and i have for a while), but i've decided to share it. This build is disgustingly overpowered when you have the gear to support it. For everybody wondering why i say chain sucks: This is it. Notes This build is designed for Hardcore This is a CONVERSION build. You must use a very heavy physical damage bow and Blackgleam. This build is designed to work with ZERO Energy Shield/Evasion/Armor even without acrobatics. Acrobatics and Evasion gear are freebies that make it even more ridiculous. I am aware that this build is level capped. Lower level versions give up the flask node, the regen/resists/30 str in the middle, and a number of 8% HP nodes which are then filled out later. 4 Seething/Bubbling HP Flasks, one quicksilver of adrenaline (NOT reflexes). I put this up top in the bold part because you CANNOT granite on this build unless you remove acrobatics. 6L Non-Lioneye Version 6L Lioneye Version How to use: Quality projectile weakness a mob and just fucking destroy EVERYTHING. Frostwall behind tough enemies to shotgun your lightning arrow on them. Gear to use: Pure evasion (This will be hard due to socket colors) + Kaom's Heart That 35% pierce node lets you replace pierce on your bow with Faster Attacks. This, along with acrobatics and pure evasion gear makes this thing flat out broken. Quality projectile weakness + that node allows you to still break 100% pierce. ==Links== Bow - 6L - Lightning Arrow - Faster Attacks - Weapon Elemental Damage - Lesser Multiple Projectiles - Lightning Penetration - Blood Magic Helm - 4L - Reduced Mana - Purity - Vitality - Hatred Gloves - 4L - Blood Magic - Frost Wall - Grace or High Quality Decoy Totem - Projectile Weakness Boots - Double 2L - Reduced Mana - Wrath - Anger - Blood Magic Chest - Kaom's Heart - No Sockets ==========5L Chest 6L Bow Non-Kaom's Setup========== 5L Chest - Reduced Mana - Vitality - Purity - Anger - Hatred 4L Gloves - Spell Totem - Summon Skeletons - Blood Magic - Blind 4L Boots - Bear Trap - Added Fire Damage - Blood Magic - Fire Penetration 4L Helm - Reduced Mana - Blood Magic - Projectile Weakness - Wrath =ALTERNATE Boots + Helm= 4L Boots - Bear Trap - Added Fire Damage - Blood Magic - Projectile Weakness 4L Helm - Reduced Mana - Blood Magic - Grace - Wrath Last edited by Xendran#1127 on Mar 19, 2013, 9:51:44 AM

Where is the sustain coming from?
Life is tough... but it is tougher if you're stupid.

" Sustain...? That word is too general for me to answer properly, please elaborate. Last edited by Xendran#1127 on Feb 22, 2013, 3:06:55 PM

" Is the mere HP regeneration and sheer size of the HP pool enough to keep you alive while full combat mode against reflect enemies? Life is tough... but it is tougher if you're stupid.

" The use of purity gives you 85% to all your resists, which is 25% more protection than 80%. This combined with the 6,000/11,000 (depending on kaoms)hp + massive regen, protects you from oneshotting yourself, however you should always try to frostwall the rare away from the other mobs so you can take it out alone instead of continuously firing into a pack of reflect mobs. This build is designed to be sustained purely on hp and regen, and the Acrobatics + Evade is simply a bonus. Last edited by Xendran#1127 on Feb 22, 2013, 3:20:28 PM

Very interesting!
Looks kinda similar to the build I'm trying to finish off http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/178727 . I thought about filling the centre hp nodes, or going into ranger zone, or duelist zone... but your build has even more hp than all of those options. I take it you prefer vitality/purity over blood magic passive and an extra support gem on your attacks? I don't know a huge amount about the game, but I don't know if I agree with you about chain. It takes your lmp modified damage from 70% * 3 projectiles = 210% to 35% * 3 projectiles * 3 chains = 315%. I suppose this means you'd only need 2 arrows to pierce and hit a second target and pierce wins out though. However chain also has the bonus of bouncing back towards mobs after passing through them, meaning much more concentrated splash damage. Interesting thought though! The loss of zerking and unwavering stance would be tough for me to take.. since atk speed scales nicely with other damage bonuses. |

" Yeah, i prefer vitality and purity (its a difference of TWENTY FIVE percent of all elemental damage, and a lot of bonus regen which is crazy) over the keystone. About Chain bouncing back towards mobs for concentrated splash damage: I considered that and is the reason for frostwall. If you have 1 or 2 mobs, you frostwall and it enables shotgunning on LA by hitting the wall behind it, activating LA's pseudo-aoe targeting. About berzerking and unwavering: 15% attack speed is nice, but the number of points used to get there and unwavering is very similar to the number of points used to get up into the pierce/acro area. Unwavering is nice, but i personally consider it a convenience, as i run with enough hp to rarely get stunned, and i've had enough playtime that i have a lot of practice manually dodging and anticipating charge attacks, which are the only stuns i consider dangerous. I forgot to put the flasks in, one thing to note is that you cannot granite with this build unless you drop acrobatics. The combination of all the drawbacks on this build make it absurdly powerful only if you have quite a lot of experience with dealing with all the enemy types in the game. It nos not friendly to new players at all which is something i should add to the OP. EDIT: Another thing to note, is that using chain doubles the HP cost of your skill, meaning chain both nerfs your potential offence AND your defence. Even with the faster attack rate of faster attacks, it doesn't reach double the cost per second. Last edited by Xendran#1127 on Feb 22, 2013, 3:53:28 PM

Updated the build a little, turns out i accidentally left out one of the 10% shock chance nodes.
NOTE: Naturally you take 40hp from oak in normal. Another update: Specified that you can use grace instead of decoy totem, and that decoy totem is only useful at high quality. |

Whether you go with +x% phys dmg and +x-y phys dmg mods with conversion quivers or straight elemental mods this question remains; Don't you feel guilty about not taking the +60% weapon elemental dmg nodes in the middle and at ranger? They'd be a wicked dps buff after auras, conversions and item mod stacking are done.

" If you can find a good place to obtain 6 points out of the build, go for it. i go more defensive usually though. |
