650 Fusing Orbs + 400 Fusing Orbs

Sorry to hear all the horror stories.

Just a tip - definitely worth it to check vendors every level, I got a 5L this way and never looked back.

started with ilvl73 normal item.about 200 jeweler to 6s,mabey 50 fusing to 5L,less then 10 chrom to get my color, mabey 10-15 chaos to good roll, first exalted rolled cold resist, second exalted rolled dex (was hoping for another resist but still better then stun recovery etc).

pretty happy with the result.not the best but still decent roll.

i was waiting to find one or buy a 5L but its usualy low lvl armor and a wanted the top evasion one (zodiac) so i tried my luck :P

Just to throw some fact in to this thread.

This is not a good crafting system, this is a system for WoW players who need to fill their emptiness with time wasting bullshit.

Sorry, but it isnt fun or intuitive; its lazy and intended to do nothing but waste your time or fill up the time of empty people. It also strangles diversity to death.

Its actually getting funny realising how many "unique" design mechanics in this game are actually poorly thought out, time wasting mechanics.

Facts? No, just your opinion.

6-links are supposed to work like that. They're not required to beat the game, they're a status symbol more than anything.

and we all know thats just bullcrap.

6Ls gain difficulty was made so you waste time trying to get the currency to craft it instead of realizing the lack of content.
According to my calculations you got basically 1/64 approx 1,5% chance of succeeding in making a link between every socket. And now I don't mean all six linked but I mean that every socket is linked to someone.

But to get a 6 link you are instead looking at a 1/4096 chance of making those links.

That is if I made my calculations correct.

I doubt that very much.

Devs confirm that the game rolls for links one at a time. For example, with a six-socket item, the game rolls for 1L, 2L, 3L, 4L, 5L, or 6L; these chances are not even. If it rolls 1L, it the rolls again for 1L, 2L, 3L, 4L, or 5L. If it gets 3L this time, it has 4 sockets decided so it rolls for 1L or 2L, then it's done.

What they don't confirm are the odds for links. They have confirmed the odds for Jeweler's Orbs to make a specific number of sockets: 100:90:80:30:5:1 for 1,2,3,4,5,6 sockets respectively. That means an item that can only have max four sockets has a 30/(100+90+80+30) = 30/300 chance of getting four sockets when you Jeweler it, while the chance for six sockets is 1/306. The exception is that you can't get the exact same configuration as a result, so if you roll the same number of sockets and the exact same link pattern (automatic with one-socket, easy with two-socket, much harder after), it will reroll automatically.

Assuming the Fusing rolls match the Jeweler's rolls exactly, 6L would have a 1/305 chance of occuring (not 1/306 because you can't get the same configuration back). That is a pretty big assumption, but devs are on record saying the chance of 6L with Fusing is close to 1 in 300.

Just out of curiosity though, how did you think it worked?
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.
3 fusings,not kidding.

I thought it was pure random at all levels.

For example: If every socket has 2 ways to bind to its neighbors then they have 4 different ways a binding can occour, connected to both neighbors, connected to neighbor A, connected to neighbor B, no connection.
And if we take that thought to calculate the maximum amount of available combination then we can use a base 4 number system, populate it with 6 numbers (one for each socket), the number would look like 333333.
Then we get a combination of 4096 possible combination and I would say that only one of these is a connection of everyone.

I've managed to get my hands on 3 or 4 5L drops (in open beta), picked up one at the vendor and crafted another. I really like the system and anyone who complains about it comes off as whiny and entitled. If you don't like RNG this probably isn't the genre for you.

Thats because you found one and crafted one.. what about if you didnt found one or can craft one but you need one... 600 fusing later are you still this happyfluffy
