HUGE HACK went down!!! who all got jacked.

I'm a geek too and i still have my stuff. Sorry if i sound like Lask001. Not my intention.

If you are such geeks get your brains working and let's see how GGG got hacked or you got hacked.

long-time gamer here

been playing online since the early days of UO

not once in my entire life has my account been compromised in any game i've played

this is clearly GGG's fault and i'll be waiting for an official PSA from them

i'm ok with not getting my items back as long as i know for a fact that it will not happen again

i was about to reroll hardcore anyway so my softcore items would have been irrelevant. still though, not cool.

I agree with this, again my main issue is not beeing hacked again. Please fix your account security breach GGG.

And dont feed the Trolls guys, ppl like mabllo are just trolling.

Here's an idea. Any of you all that got hacked and are such gurus in protecting your passwords and such even try to figure out how u got hacked? (And not just blaming it on GGG because so easy).

I am very confident (99 percent) that each of the people complaining was either phished or used infected hacks. PERIOD.

I've said it in another thread, why not instead of flaming, and calling each others names and trolling, try to come up with ways it happened?

Strong call out on me, could just say my name.

Yes I did hack, I have a farming summoner that is my hack. If it was infested then it was GGG that infected me with my hack.

It's not intended at you. It's at every one.

Nothing is that secure. Not even GGG true.

But would we not see high ladder players being hacked if it was a breach on their side? Or more players reporting being hacked. So far i doubt there are more than 100 out of the 30-40k plus playing.

Not my intention to troll so i'll just stay out from this post forth. I was just trying to help or be productive.

Yup, hacked as well, didn't have much, but any currency of worth is gone from my stash.

Like others here, I have never had an account compromised in an online game before.

Not saying it cannot be my fault etc etc. Although I do think the number of people who have gotten their accounts compromised, is starting to make it look like it might be more than a few people logging into phishing sites.

Just because it's only 100-200 people out of 30-40k doesn't mean some one couldn't have done some SQL injection and got 1 table of information. Not being a responder I have no idea what to look for for SQL injected attacks but something like this is possible. GGG has never (and should never) state how passwords are stored so it's all just a guess out of 1000's of things that could be an issue if it was a breach on their side.
"Unfortunately, we cannot restore any items lost to theft." Unless you are a well known streamer then we will do anything for you.

I'm just glad i changed all my passwords 2 days ago, For some reason i decided to do a virus scan, i use several free ones and only one of them picked up a password stealer, no idea where it came from or when i got it, but glad i did now, losing your items sucks.

From previous experience, these passwords are normally stolen over several months, then they attack many accounts all in one go.

Bottom line is, antivirus programs are not perfect.
