" Atleast don't send invite to people who created their account on the 10th August (most of them are probably alt-account) I just saw one of them getting an invite a few min ago :s |

To be honest, all you guys who are saying things like "LOL umad stop begging QQ" are just assuming he's in the same boat as all of you. But really, he's one of only a handful of people who were forum-active last month before the beta date was confirmed. I actually do find it a bit unfair that he didn't get in amongst all these people who are spamming the forums into oblivion.
Like Tormenta said, darklord actually probably does deserve to have an invite. Hopefully one goes his way some time in the next few days. IGN: SpudOfDoom | The Exiled - Path Of Exile's oldest clan

At the end of the day, this is a game. Whether you get in the beta today or next week is still the same thing. You are ranting because you lack patience and understanding of the process. In other words, grow up, do something else and come back when you have the beta key and make new threads "OMG IM IN BETA" because you almost certainly lack the capacity to be mature about it.

" OMG someone who actually understands what a beta test is :O /faint Seriously, done TONNES of beta's for different games, from text adventures all the way up and I totally agree with you, 1 in a million dude, 1 in a million... On a related note, I actually saw someone once write a bug report which basically said "Hi I was minding my own business exploring when I suddenly died!" the dev did some investigating, questions like: where were you? etc... were asked. Long story short, after a raft of vague rubbish answers it was determined from the logs, he had run through a camp of about 10 enemy npc's then jumped off a cliff to 'escape' them that was about 2x higher than the critical fall height in the game. ¬¬ |

"I am not a special flower"
...made me snort my milk. ---- As someone who only opened their account a few days ago simply to try and get a beta invite, I can see where long-time contributers feel a bit left out if they're not at the top of the list for beta keys. (That isn't to say that I haven't been a long time lurker, but I've never really contributed directly.) Of course, being a long-time contributer doesn't necessarily excuse a tirade against the developers. All I can say is keep your shirt on! Who knows when you're going to get an invite. And if you don't...well...is that really something to get so upset about? You'll be just that more appreciative when it is finally released. I know I will be. :) -lacsapper Last edited by lacsapper#1680 on Aug 11, 2011, 8:40:22 PM

" I feel like you're not responding to the issue at all. We're saying that there are tons of people who have come to the forums and spent time discussing about this game. People who are enthusiastic and who have shown their enthusiasm. These are the types of people who SHOULD get in, and the fact that most of the people getting in have 0 posts and whose last visited date is the same as the last login date leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The fact of the matter is, if people were so interested, they'd have logged in and posted at least once. I can't imagine someone being interested and checking in for 3 - 4 months and never posting once on any topic for any reason. It's preposterous. This entire beta fiasco is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. |

" Our analytics show that there are many many returning visitors (people from the same IP/browser) that don't log in but do read the forums/news. I've talked to many of them that are active on other forums discussing PoE but haven't posted on ours. We spent months reassuring people that just signing up for an account is all that is necessary to be considered. I completely understand why you feel frustrated about this process. What do you suggest we do differently though, in a fair way to not alienate either group? | |
" Ive been following this game since it was first announced, and until a few days ago I think I posted one time to answer a question to someone that no one else answered. Doesn't mean I'm any less enthusiastic about the game, I just happen to be a very quiet individual when it comes to online interactions. (and often in person, also.) I understand hes frustrated, but this entire thread shows his lack of patience and immaturity. I have tested a few betas myself, and patience is not something to lack when testing a game so incomplete. He has a right to be frustrated, but he also needs relax and wait for his turn. It will come soon enough. |
