i seriously hate the "identify these treasures" challenge. its literally cancer to the economy for items that are already in the top end of the price spectrum. so now i'm forced to pay someone a large amount extra just to ID a item that i will never find on my own because the drop rate is astronomical. thanks ggg for a in game pay to win experience that is impossible to complete on your own. time to endlessly farm for currency -_-!

You literally can make currency in no time in this game. There are like a billion ways to do this right now. If you push maps fast, sell high bases, if you don't play that much MF dried lake, if you have some time but don't got a fast build, find a niche market or farm sac fragments on docks, if you have a fast clearing build do some mid tier maps and get all the money from the 6s and currency drops.

I literally do not see the problem at all :/ I always felt like trading was the actual challenge and not the "hey come kill this boss for me please" type of challenges.

Oh well...

ive played 2k hours in poe, i understand how to make currency. i have never once found any of those uniques listed for the challenge, i play builds with decently fast clear speed and constantly spam maps. like is said the drop rate is ASTRONOMICAL you will almost never find these items yourself. the market is completely scumbags when it comes to completing challenges. do you want to pay 10ex for a unid shavs? i know i dont, how about 8ex for a taste of hate, or 6ex for a soul taker. get real man this is the worst challenge ever and ggg could do alot better than forcing us to ID the rarest shit in the game.
The challenges seem not bad, but I am dismayed to see a couple of the exact same challenges two leagues in a row.

That's just boring.

Some of the challenges look great on the surface:
Complete These Encounters I-III - I personally like hunting down things like this.

Zana 8 - while sad to see a repeat, this one takes dedication and that's a good thing.

Complete these Quests - Nice to give an incentive to players, especially new, to explore the quests.

All the "Complete New Content" Ones - To be expected and a nice way to make sure nothing new is missed.

Some are just, boring as all hell and aggravating:
Full Clear Areas - I hate this one, finding that last monster can be so annoying. It's not every area in every difficulty like in the past (thank god), but still not much fun.

Use Currency - Enough of this already. This is just a meaningless challenge, and I cannot fathom the idea that people need incentive to use any of these items.

Identify Uniques - I personally hate trading challenges, and that's what these almost always are. The prices for Soul Taker at the end of TSC were absolutely ridiculous because of Kingmaker being part of the vendor challenge (as an example).

Kill the Act Bosses - I don't think challenges should reward you for just progressing through the game. You should have to actually do something besides just play through normally and do mandatory content to get a challenge. It also is a minor stylistic annoyance that it lists all 4, when "Kill Malachai" would do the same thing, can't get to him without killing the other three. On this note, Merciless difficulty would be acceptable.

Anyway, my initial reaction. I'll be gunning for 36 of course, we'll see what actually happens.

But that's also part of the game bro. Also you don't need to go for shavs, you can go for perandus, hegeys, etc.
Flipping and selling these unid stuff is also part of the game (trading and flipping) And if you snatch a good deal you might try to resell it and etc. I don't think I need to explain it to you since you say you have 2k+ hours.

Why is spending currency in large chunks bad on these types of things? It's a potentially profitable business and you can still resell the item. If you don't want the shavs you can just sell it and you will lose a couple of ex - shouldn't be that big of a deal losing like 150-200 worth of chaos.
So... This league special for who love much Achievements.

What have YOU learned about past leagues? Your profile page shows you have never touched a challenge league except this last one for 5 minutes, so don't speak for everyone.

The list looks very reasonable. Most are for casuals, a few for hardcores. It can't be all catering to casuals.
FFS, why are half of them the same as last league?? More of the same...
zana level 8 again ZAMN! other than that NOICE

Hey, 36/40 really seems possible, if league and expansion specific ones don't include one of those encounters that will never happen.

if i can do 28/32, I can do that, too.

hooray for pay-to-win-league! can't wait!
