[3.0] Legasi's Masterpiece - Trivialize Bossfights! Shaper Deathless! Boss Guides inside! HC

The damage takes a bit to ramp up. That's one of the weaknesses when it comes to mapping. If you're in a party, the mobs have more HP and it might seem like she's not really doing anything before the mobs die to your flameblast. Most of the build's damage comes from stacking firestorms which stack poison while stacking wither so the damage starts small but exponentially grows the longer something is being hit. Essentially it's designed to kill bosses and does poorly for mapping overall.

If she just maps alone, you can prob see that she doesn't do 0 damage. Alternatively, this build is an easy switch into dual obliteration blade vortex for mapping.
Hah... been quite lucky so far. Found an exalt already and activated a prophecy for a 20% quality gem. It just triggered in a1 merc and tadaa... 20% quality wither :)

The thing is, even after switching to "full" chaos damage (with CD and the tree) she still does more damage with scorching ray as primary skill.. I don't get it (and that's true for packs and boss). Maybe I'll make her go for a "true" fire/chaos build, wither on totem, scorching ray as primary skill and a bit of fire damage in the tree xD

Poison double dipping represents a big chunk of this build's damage. I very much doubt scorching ray has more dps than wither. Maybe it looks like it because scorching ray itself does damage and wither doesn't, but wither amplifies the chaos damage and the poison.

Just input her character into path of building and you can compare the numbers.
Tree looks fine, gear is incomplete on that character, so I can't check that.

As Astro already pointed out, this build's damage takes massive ramp up time (up to 10 s!), but the damage increases with a cubic function over time (not exponential btw). I also cleary stated that the build is a bosskiller, has slow clearspeed and only starts being fun at lvl 80+, since I designed it for HC (defence first, damage last). Keep in mind that this build scales insanely with gem level and number of links. You guys should push for a 5l (Jewellers Touch?) and a couple more gem levels (18 fs) before your final judgement. For now I'd recommend to use Conc Effect as the 4l support gem since it's the strongest damage increase by far and I guess you're taking care of the AoE anyways.

About AoE... look what poe wiki says about firestorm:

Area of Effect: Increased AoE will increase both the area in which the fireballs randomly fall and also the radius of the individual fireball damage. Full spell damage is done at any point within the AoE of a fireball, however due to the fact that enemies take up an area and not simply a point, less spell damage is dealt to any given enemy as area increases. This is why, contrary to popular belief, increasing the AoE of Firestorm decreases the average number of hits to single target.

So, do we use AoE for trash mainly as for bosses it's better to have less obviously. Starting to doubt whether the AoE nodes are worth taking or if we can use them for more damage/ES nodes.

The Hybrid period is quite tough when starting maps I must say. With 2k life and 2.5k ES I died often. Then I bought a well rolled infernal mantle for 1c and the jeweller's touch prophecy for 28c and my ES jumped up to 4.5k. Next I went shopping and got all cheap ES items for 1 or 2c. Then switched to CI and with discipline I'm now at 8.7k ES. What a huge difference. The CWDT curse set up works great and map bosses so far never stood a chance ^^.

I was having doubts about the build when I was still hybrid but now I see the potential.
Still worry about curse immune mobs as cursing is very important in this build for defense and leech and It seems I get stunned regularly so a solution for that would be nice but unwavering stance is too far out and an eye of chayula means a lot less ES and resists. Maybe a nice lab enchant will help here.

After equipping your infernal mantle and switching to CI this build really becomes a blast!

So far I have really enjoyed this build. The clear speed is lack-luster if you've been playing meta builds like blade flurry or vaal spark, but it is still respectable. The leveling process has been one of the smoothest processes I've ever experienced, I never had any trouble going through cruel and merciless up until the switch to CI.

As such, the transition to CI was very easy as this build seems to magically squeeze every ounce of ES out of each item. I went from 2k life and 2k es to 5k es once I switched over. I had my doubts about warlords mark and atziri's promise being the only source of leech, however those doubts were crushed as the sheer amount of ES you are able to get with little to no investment more than makes up for the time it takes to leech back all the ES lost once you jump into a pack.

With a full cwdt setup and curse setup I was able to face-tank Uber Izaro at level 69 with mediocre ES gear and a 5link IM and Consuming Dark, making this one of the easiest builds I've played to farm lab with. I've opted to use a 3G prismatic eclipse and brightbeak in my offhand to get through the lab quickly, and using a Bated Breath has helped out with regenerating ES for the Wicked Ward bonus, plus the 10% increased damage and 20% increased maximum ES has helped out a lot.

All in all, this is a very powerful and fun build to do with little to no investment and I would recommend it to new players and veterans alike. Thanks so much for this build guide, it has refreshed the enjoyment I originally got from this game.
Yo, glad you like it so much :) Mind if I put that quote on the front page?
It's also a bit strange some people have mentioned how smooth the leveling is, it was the exact opposite for me when I leveled it.
You also can remove the 10 int node at the mana jewel socket ;)
