Had just vendored 1 random rare from a map drop in exchange for 1 chance orb, though don't remember the mods :/

Had this before 1 month with two random rare items! I couldnt find the specific mods why ive got the chance orbs. With every other combination of items i didnt get the chance orb. Only with this two rares! But this recipe was definitely included long before this patch.

with two rare items, its clear: not depending on any stat/mod, but only match their name (yellow top-line, not item base name)

It's probably well known but since I never read about it here's my method:

After every lvl-up the vendors reset. You get a chrom for an item with linked sockets of every colour.
So after every lvl-up you check all vendors for these items. Once you hit merciless act 3 you'll get at least 3-5 chroms from every vendor run, often even 5-8.
this also applies to 6S, 5L, and 6L

keep your eyes peeled :)

Often enough you dont get anything at all, mayby 1 or 2 chromes. I enjoy the 6s though =)
So, I saw something similar on the OP but not the same, so posting it:

3 magic maps of same base type = unid magic map one higher level

follows the same pattern as 3 white maps to next level, 3 magic lvl 66 dungeon maps = 1 magic unid cemetary map

useful for the 10.8b
Hey...is this thing on?

Thanks. I forgot to add it previously. ;-)
I appear to be living in "Romance Standard Time". That has to be good! :)
not a recipy i found, but it does work.
i got it from Dominions Stream (i think neon said it)

1 pair of boots (no matter the rarity)
1 augmentation orb
1 Quicksilver flask
=
10% movespeed boots (if it was white, magic or rare with no MS on it before it will turn into a magic item with just 10% MS)

If you have a pair of boots with (example) 15% MS this recipy will make it a pair of boots with 20% MS (all other stats will be removed however)

Have fun!

Yeah it's an easy way to exchange several trans orbs for chromes. You can also (if you're stars aligned) find 5L and 6L that way. Pulled one 5L that way myself. Slightly more common are 6S which you can turn around and vend for jewelers.
