I have to say, this recipe can become handy, but hope that this is not the only one. Would love to see some more recipes going into the game.

Flask recipe was probably added mainly due to races. Vendor refusing to sell flask upgrades for several consecutive levels used to mean an auto loss for many builds; shouldnt be nearly as big an issue now.

Had just vendored 1 random rare from a map drop in exchange for 1 chance orb, though don't remember the mods :/

also of note: three magic flasks gives one magic flask of the next tier.

It's probably well known but since I never read about it here's my method:

After every lvl-up the vendors reset. You get a chrom for an item with linked sockets of every colour.
So after every lvl-up you check all vendors for these items. Once you hit merciless act 3 you'll get at least 3-5 chroms from every vendor run, often even 5-8.

A Chance Orb as exchange for a single rare item sounds not known before! Would be nice to have the specs of the input....
