I tried with another 2 items that had the same name, so that recipe definitely works.

So what am I missing? Or are the names supposed to literally be absolutely identical?

Oh, it's suppose to share same type of affix? Like 2 pieces with +mana and life each?

Recipe: Item with mods for either quantity or rarity
Reward: 1 Shard of Alchemy (2 if the mod is maxed)
Finder: JMStewy

I haven't found this to work with rings and amulets.

Been reported time and time again...

The items with mods with rarity means additional rarity mods, not just a gold ring/gold amulet. (as those are default mods)

Like I linked on page 5, 2 rare items called Golem Casinet, but different item types. I also sold 2 Beast Thrasher weapons of different types.

Found a 6-linked armor yesterday and checked the vendor offer on it. The little weasle tried to rip me off with a crappy divine orb, didn't take it of course ;)

So, the items linked by dainbramage are not the same recipe. We have multiple alchemy giving recipes, then?

Edited: I see what the recipe is, but since the recipe needs some more research the image still remains for the cause!

It appears that way, unless dainbramage didn't put the same 2 items back and was unaware of the 2 equal name recipe (which is what i suspect).

Heh i just realized, since a shard gives you a Scroll Fragment, you get 4 Scroll of Wisdom out of an orb they convert into if you don't convert. This means, you get twice as many SoW out of using 20x Transmutation Shards (4) rather than an Orb of Transmutation (2). That certainly needs fixing.
