Ive studied the build but I have 1 question.
Why not use elemental hit as 1 target nuke? I understand that frenzy gives attack speed but I remember being told that elemental hit is just fantastic for ranger. Im just a bit confused because not so long ago every thread Ive read mentioned elemental hit as main dmg for 1 target. Now i see people moving to frenzy.... so is there anything i dont see? plus is frenzy still worthy if i took 1 talent point instead of frenzy charge from bandit quest? |

I'm not quite as high level as you (58 atm) but I haven't had *any* issues at all in merciless and I am using the same 5L skill pack as you (LA<-LGoH, weap Ele dmg, chain, lesser multiple).
I'm halfway through act 2 and the only time I've died was when I ran into a room containing a bunch of spark mages and an orange unique spider that ate me during PC lag thanks to all those spark animations. Low settings for me from now on... I'm assuming you have taken resolute technique to gurantee that your chained projectiles hit? Looking at your gear, regarding your minions, I would invest in a Spell Totem gem to go with your Summon skeletons. Then, in preference to Minion life, I've paired mine with Faster Casting (links are R-B-B with Spell totem, Summon skelly, Faster casting). If you happen to be lucky enough to roll/find a RBBB 4-link, perhaps minion speed rather than minion life is the way to round out the totem (more skellys will spawn, so the amount of life is less important). Alternatively, I've also read that Decoy totem works well; if you have enough sockets and happen to have a(nother) spare red one, I think it'd be worth trying that. BTW, if you do get spell totem, don't be distressed if you go try it out and no skeletons appear: there needs to be an enemy within the totem's range for it to trigger. I notice that you don't have *that* much +life on your gear. Also, the Eva on your armor seems relatively low to me given that you're level 65+. |

I am in this same boat right now. I have both Gems maxed out and I know Frenzy displays larger numbers in the UI but Ele Hit seems to down single targets faster. Is this just me? For ref I am lvl 69 following this build basically to the T.

" Nalaa said he's tried it and came to the conclusion that, even though elemental hit does kill a boss slightly faster, because frenzy charges increased attack speed and damage bonus carry over to LA, overall you end up with more DPS by having frenzy. So... Frenzy it is. Also, don't forget all of the end-act bosses (Merveil, Vaal oversoul, Piety) have modes where they spawn adds, so you do end up using your LA during these boss fights some of the time and the DPS boost *is* relevant. For the super rich, you could potentially have both frenzy and Elemental hit in the same chain of support gems (I'm guessing you'd want Life leech, weapon elemental damage, faster attacks, culling strike - but this would mean getting a 6L armor or bow though, so $$$$$$) |

All I have to say is wow. I got to lvl 35 last night which allowed me to equip some new armor and jewelry and I also grabbed blood magic. I am completely owning everything. I am slightly twinked out but I feel this build even at lvl 35 with 4L for LA is so much more powerful then I ever was at this level with my physical ranger.
Quick question what is the going rate for Elemental Hit I would like to try it out but when I tried to buy it from someone they wanted 1 GCP which seemed sightly on the extreme side but I have no idea the "normal" rate for it. |

yea kinda expensive for those 5L and 6L bows for 60+ levels
currently lvl 67, recently borrowed my fren's bow and use it boost my LA dps a lot :D for farming and get currencies :D LA dmg i think is around 600

Ok thanks for the clarification why Frenzy is superior to Elemental Hit.
ps. Im planning to get the needed gems but its hard to buy them without knowing the right price. Does anybody mind telling me what is the price range for those non quality gems? -Life gain on hit -Weapon elemental damage. -Chain -Anger -Reduced Mana And btw it would be really useful (especially for new Rangers) to include approx. price for gems in main post. |

You guys know that the duration of shock stacks is based on the amount of lightning damage you do right? I don't think chain should be used if you have too little lightning damage. Quality lightning arrow helps.
