Ok we are updated for the new patch! I left the beginner guide the same just had to add 3 more nodes to get bezerking, however if you go to the complete guide under the update section i went through the bottom instead of going up the tree. You get the ele res, steel skin, and atk speed now.
Thanks for doing this update and posting this guide. I have been doing a physical ranger (lvl 75) and respeced him into physical after the patch but I am going to start a LA ranger to give it a try.
How painful do you think it would be going from the start through the bottom area? I want to get the benefits from it without having to do a bunch of a respec later. I do have some currency so if I start hitting some walls I can probably buy gear to make up for it.

you could try it out, but i dont think you will be able to use blood magic with that low of health. you will have to get those nodes along the bottom, and then it could be possible. let me know how it turns out.

Do you plan on updating all the build steps such as the level 1-10 11-20 etc
Also whats your ign?
all the levels are updated minus 3 stat points along the bottom to bezerking. that is the only changes from the patch to the build. as for the respect build, its seperate because you will already have the strength and int for the skills needed.

In theory what is the minimal safe HP before selecting BM?

honestly I don't know. I assume it does show up. If you are looking at LA and you get 10% ele damage it goes up.

i would say no less then 600-700 is the absolute minimum because of the auras. Also make sure that you can use LA with LGOH and still gain life to support your skills.

There isn't that much difference between taking the original route and going along the bottom of the passive skill tree, but if you're going to do it I'd recommend making an endrun straight to Iron Grip. Because of the odd placement of Iron Grip, it'll take 31 points minimum to get to it. Once you've gotten there, you'll power up quick as you fill in. That way you'll be weaker during normal when it'll be easier. Be sure you have enough portal scrolls before you take on bosses though. You won't be getting any damage increases until you get Iron Grip, although you will get some health increases from the strength nodes.
Here's a link for what I'm talking about:

(You'll have to cut-and-paste. I don't know how to include it as an actual link...)
Blood Magic isn't that big a deal. Just make sure you have at least enough Life Gain on Hit or Life Leech to cover the abilities you use the most, and use flasks to cover any extra damage you're taking.

Thanks for replying to my last post, Why does the 4l aura's not need any links if you are using reduced mana?

its 4l/no link. meaning if you dont have the 4 links its ok, but to use the reduced mana you need the links.

Elemental damage, health, resistances, evasion and/or armor (evasion turns into armor with the passive skill)
