Path of Exile seems to perform poorly on ATI/AMD cards?
" Hopefully soon we will have Response regarding a fix. even in party's of 2-3 I can get severe FPS drops. If I could make the game look like total shit to play without fps drops...I would. hit me up @sarrow lets have fun :D

" They have acknowledged that people are having problems, the problem is that they can't reproduce the problem with multiple hardware configurations. And it's not so much the GFX card or driver problem but how the game loads things (skills,textures,effects) which causes a small pause that shows on the fps counter which only gets worse in a group, things like ice shot and discharge are pretty bad for it Ancestral Bond. Playing a Hack&Slash game at lowest quality with 5-10 fps is priceless.Even though u spent 300 bucks for ur video card.

"indeed. if it was constant 20fps i would play it. but i cant. its not constant its ranging from 60 to 1 fps. it should be there top priority. THERE ARE ALOT....alot of AMD users...i know some people love to say amd is the issue but its not....amd is not what it was years ago...yes some of the beta drivers can add problems just stick to the one that works with you is what I learned. I also learned that path of exile does not Really care about this issue ( not only an amd issue. something somewhere in the way stuff is generated creates gigantic amounts of useless frame stutter on top end graphic cards/pc's I am awaiting GGG I have heard a few lucky users got pms from ggg members about this issue. this is NOT ACCEPTABLE. countless people have this issue. They want more players? I have read up on tons of threads on here and other forums of people quitting just because of this getting worst and why is GGG ignoring us? we just want an answer...or help...I payed for multiple supporter packs because in closed beta if I had an issue they also supported me. GGG had stopped supporting me. and I cant play on my top end pc. I still love GGG. but im sick of playing alone. (even then some areas with rain drop my fps and make it unstable.) GGG i have no life. i have nothing but games. i played countless amounts of beta. i always read the forums. the technical forums especially. and do you want to know what games thrive? The ones that address real issues and put them up as a priority. THIS is an issue how can you not admit it. over 10 threads with multiple pages maybe 2-3 of those trying to help all those people and the rest is EVERYONE with XXX/XXX/XXX gen cards saying that they can barely play in groups or not at all. p.s obviously something is wrong. you need to admit yourself the reality here. if i was alone i wouldn't mind i would say "open beta they will fix it in good time" THIS IS A GOOD TIME. countless already quit because of this LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG lasting ishue...i remember this being an issue months and months ago... hit me up @sarrow lets have fun :D

" Yes. I have read this when it was posted ( months ago ) but it got worst in last patches. and I cant really play honestly. I just tried. in party's I lagg to much to be anything but frustrating and I just died 3 times to a unique mob i should be destroying because every time he does lightning strike I get 0fps and get raped afk. Sorry if i seem on edge. its because I am. this is the only game I want to play. and I cant afford buying new graphic card this one already was more then I should have gotten. " Hey there, No need to apologize, I understand where you're coming from and use to feel the exact same way. I had similar problems with my old PC, so I bought a new one, though that isn't a viable option for every player(my old rig was well overdue for a makeover). If you make a new thread in this section and chuck up a DxDiag report we can take a look at your setup and offer some advice/suggestions for how to maximize its performance. This is the best thing we can offer to you and others in the meantime while the root problem itself is being worked on. |

If upgrading your vid card is really one of the only options do you guys at ggg have any recommendations? My 6670 is unbearable in parties and when I watch some streamer play it gets frustrating seeing the insane fps they're getting. I don't mind upgrading if it means being able to play in parties again but I wanna make sure I'm buying a vid card that's going to work ok.

" I don't want to have you spend money and get no benefit due to other hardware issues... and although there are also reports of nvidia problems, I think they are far fewer than the ATI issues. I personally have a GTX660, but it's probably overkill for this game. My bottleneck certainly is NOT my GPU... but I get no stutters or other preloading issues either. Between a solid (nvidia?) video card, enough memory (possibly for a RAMDisk?), and/or an SSD, I think those are the top options for smooth PoE play. But I wouldn't personally go out and buy anything specifically for PoE. I'd buy it because PoE and because other games will require better hardware, or I want better machine performance overall =] Good luck. |

" Hey there, The problem is that we can't really say 'go out and buy this graphics card and you'll get stable 60fps no matter what', as there could be other factors that are contributing to the problem. If you make a new thread and post up a DxDiag report we can take a look at your full system spec's and offer you advice/suggestions on how to improve things, if possible. |
