im curious about the interaction with the point blank key stone. RoA certainly is affected by it, but how does it calculate the damage? what i want to know which way it determines the distance between you and the enemy.

does it do so by calculating the distance for each individual enemy hit by one RoA, leading to a assymetric damage distribution in the RoA area?
Or does it use the distance between you and the centre of the RoA area?
Point blank, regardless of which skill is used, is always calculated based on the distance from where it was fired to the enemy hit.

This is technically not how Point Blank currently works (but maybe how its intended), for RoA it doesn't make a difference, but it actually works by the distance traveled by the projectile, rather than distance between where it was fired versus enemy hit. You can tell the subtle difference by the way spectral throw interacts with point blank, along with how chain is supposed to work with point blank.

edit: I should add that I think chain doesn't actually work this way currently, unless I missed something it still has the long standing bug of working incorrectly, where chain will create new start locations for PB reference, rather than use the original reference. So, I guess spectral throw is the only one that currently in game that needs the special distinction, so maybe that is actually a bug?

That Chain (and Fork) interaction was fixed a long time ago. :)
I think the skill is too powerful, i plow through enemy's like its nothing with pretty weak gear even on nemesis.

GRAMMAR POLICE ARE HERE!

GGG you may want to fix the text description on Vaal ROA. ", unable to move for time" doesn't make a ton of sense. What about "unable to move for a duration of time"?

"Unable to move for a time" makes me think I'm unable to move out of the way for time itself, and since time is based on movement, it would suggest my place in space-time is relevant to some 3rd party which I find a bit startling.

Well that's my QQ post for the mini-expansion :)

Point blank, regardless of which skill is used for Rain of Arrows, is always calculated based on the distance from where it was fired to the enemy hit.
For actual projectiles, it's based on the distance the projectile has travelled.

So, I feel like I'm interpreting this wrong. When you say "for Rain of Arrows, is always calculated based on the distance from where it was fired to the enemy hit.", is the 'where it was fired' referring to the location of the player character, or the ground that was targeted (ie. where the arrows will land)?

Would love some clarification.
Rain of Arrows is fired from your bow, not from where you target it :P
Please bring RoA back to its Onslaught glory. I have only seen one RoA user aside from myself above 80. Nobody is using it not only because Tornado Shot eclipses it (which I don't mind), but also. The skill is just barely serviceable. Using a Phys/Crit build and a 340 DPS bow, my RoA (with FA, CE, BM) does 7.5k DPS. My friend, at 70 with self found gear that was all crap is doing 12k Cleave in a 4L. Before I bought gear, I was doing 3k compared to his 13k.

I know I'm complaining, but it's only because Rain of Arrows is literally my favourite ability of any game, ever. I can't use anything else. I just wish it didn't take me 4 exalts to hit 7.5k, and that it just did some more damage. I don't want it to be OP, just to be good instead of 'meh'.
Anyone tried to get tons of aoe with ROA? Like aoe passives/carass and aoe gem? How much does it cover?
Tornado Shot >> RoA >> Ice Shot in every way.
2 skills killed by a new gem, great balance.
Make
Spectral Throw
great again
