[2.1] Dariidar's CoC & Magma Orb KNOCKBACK!
Im having a ton of fun with this build so far. I'm running The Three Dragons helmet with it so the lightning balls freeze them but I still get the shocks from the Magma Orbs. It works great, at least I think so. I just need some better jewelry and then I'm onto end game upgrades.
A few questions. How necessary are the purities for defense later on in maps? Doing low 70s at the moment and I've been running Herald of Thunder CoH Assassin's mark to help with my non-capped crit chance and Haste to get myself near the APS cap for the build instead. Maydi, glad to hear you're still alive. I've been doing some testing with lmp and it seems to surpass gmp barrage in spell damage from 2.4 - 2.8 aps. If you can manage that as I suggest you give it a try! 20% knock back seems to be a comfortable amount for me to knock back with magma orb but nothing wrong with 15%; magma orb and ball lightning will still have a dps boost just not as big.
Zach, purities are great for surviving reflect but as another user pointed out, saffells frame gives similar results. I like purities bc they let me buy cheaper gear (diamond rings ) with less resists. Feel free to experiment with auras. Once you get high level bloodrage you probably won't need as much speed from haste. Dislike stone of laz just bc we have acrobatics and therefore low block. " a super duper rare i think will work great for this build.... after the huge nerf of leech in 2.0 i think it is way overrated. huge hits will still kill you. you can use flasks just fine after those big hits. vaal pact seeems just a pain in the ass to use now....corrupting blood is easy to counter now with a simple flask...reflect can be countered in multiple ways... https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1462987

Well you said it yourself, huge hits will still kill you whether you have a super rare or a Voll's. The difference is that leech will give you the ability to sustain your life pool in longer boss/rare/exile fights when your seethings can be easily depleted/not refilled. Leech is also the absolute safest way to deal with reflect, any way you look at the math. Even if you go for super resist capping via flasks, - maxres reflect is still a huge issue, and leech is the simplest way to make ourselves effective in nearly all map mods. (although not in the very rare new can't leech mod)
I know staunchings exist. I meant that leech allows me to delay using it, basically let's me be lazy about off screening shit and not worrying about reflect/random corrupting blood. So it helps my clears peed. If you still decide to use a rare let me know how it goes. To me it only seems to provide marginal defensive benefit for less sustainability. Character Name: CharmingThird I chose to skip the main synergy of your build (Magma Orb) in favor of safety from chilled ground and freezes from Arctic Breath. I suppose I could run Three Dragons too but I really favor using Starkonja's for CoC due to it's various bonuses. I'm crit-capped with charges. That ammy is placeholder, obviously losing damage with it, but it's really good when weening up to the period when you cap naturally. Also, semi-permanently at 100%+ Movement Speed, 12k+ Evasion and 92% Lightning Resistance while flasking. I dual curse with two setups CWDT + Enfeeble + Warlord's Mark + Frost Wall to counter both reflect (note Vaal Pact) and non-one-shot big damage situations, and HoT + CoH + Assassin's Mark + Elemental Weakness for general damage purposes. Also running a HoI + Culling + IIR + Ice Bite, but I think I will swap out Ice Bite for IIQ since I reach the first attack speed breakpoint already, plus it's not as reliable for generation as I'd like anyway. Overall I would feel comfy playing this in a HC setting. My deaths running this build came from trying to brute force Merciless Malachai (the gear really is not there yet). I remove pcoc and put ice spear,im so poor guy so i dont have knockback and good stuff,ice spear so good for slow/freeze them. (With dual wield wander)
