[2.1] Dariidar's CoC & Magma Orb KNOCKBACK!
Here's my current gear! I'm using Surgebinders but you can also use Maligaro's Virtuosity; I believe that, with my current crit chance/multi/spelldmg, Surgebinders gives me a similar dps boost to Maligaro's. I've corrupted about 20 surgebinders so far, trying to get Elemental Weakness on Hit, but no success yet!

GMP vs LMP?

I play LMP because my computer is crap and it lags me less. A GMP setup is probably better in most situations.

Did you take a look at the new 2.1 tree? Do you speculate any important changes in gear or nodes for this build? Because I will most definitely go with this build when talisman starts.

The shadow changes nerfed this build I think. Less efficient nodes.

I think that I will tweak the build to get the Fending and Unwavering Stance nodes. " Yeah, we will end up losing the Sniper node and a bit of crit chance. However we won't miss the proj speed from Sniper, and as I said above you should still be capped on crit if dual wielding. Mana sucks for me too, unfortunately. mana gain on hit jewels, elreon jewelry, and a mana flask with surgeon's/warding affixes were my only solutions. Luckily we're using the cheaper Barrage and not Kinetic Blast. So hyped for 3x Magma Orb knockbacks! I chose Magma Orb because nobody had figured out a way to utilize its bouncing mechanic. The entire build was designed around that: skilltree goes near the Fending nodes, Ball Lightning hits rapidly which allows for a high rate of knock-back.
It's more common to play Cast on Crit with Fireball and Arctic Breath. Admittedly, those two spells kill content much faster than magma + ball lightning. I just liked being unique. The new mana leech nodes only leech from your elemental Attack damage. The majority of our damage comes from the Spells; Barrage deals very little Attack damage. So we will hardly benefit from those nodes. This is my first CoC build. There are even higher DPS builds!? I expect to see a substantial increase in DPS since they are buffing many spells (hopefully ours) at higher levels plus the specific Magma Orb buff.
I didn't realize that the wording for the leech nodes does not include spell damage. A pity. How do projectile nodes interact with ball lightning and magma? | |
Welcome to the world of CoC! There are tons of combinations to experiment with, but yeah, the most popular one is fireball + arctic breath. Projectile nodes will increase the damage of fireball, arctic breath, ball lightning, and magma orb - they all have the "Projectile" tag when you mouse over the gem.
