[2.2 Whispering Ice, Lowlife, Pure Unique wearer 1900+ Int, updated]

Kk, I shouldn't math at 2am. I fixed the algorithm and 100% sure it works now. Using your values, you're actually short 44.8 mana. So you would need a mana pool of at least 88 + 44.8 (132.8) to be able to spam WI without delay. That is if it's the only skill your casting. If you're self-casting something else in between, then it's going to put more strain on your mana consumption.

Thanks for helping me fix the formula :)

Uber Atziri viable ?

Thanks WaffleT. I've got a +23 Int brute force solution by Celestial to get back those two strength nodes and boost my base Int. I'm still a little short on mana but I'd like to respec pretty much all mana nodes into more damage as they are just a waste now.

I'm running Item Rarity just to boost my farming a bit and do like the ckearing speed added cold damage adds, but when I get better gear and start pushing Atziri, I'll definitely run cold penetration (I've been leveling it on my offhand).

I'll play with your suggestions and thanks for your guide, it was a lot of help and full of great ideas :)

Do you know what affects WI? I've been juggling various jewels around but I'm not sure if projectile damage or projectile speed do anything. I haven't been able to find much on the damage scaling of the skill itself.

Yeah brute force solution in that jewel in Templar is a no brainer with the amount of strength its converting. Kinda doesn't effect the choice to go into celestial at all though :P

Item rarity is fine. I tend to prefer more damage but its all good

Whispering ice has the tags AOE (area), Cold, Elemental, Spell and Duration.

Since its not a projectile it will not get anything from projectile only from the above.

My build goes avatar of fire and so adds "Fire" to that list for more things it can scale with.

@cosme7 Most Whispering Ice builds are uber atziri viable. Mine has more resistances and damage then most but a bit lower ES total, certainly viable but it depends on your atziri mechanics and how practiced you are at dodging the stuff
So i used the formular from _Tiem

(0,45 * 2) * 100 = 90
(156,2 / 90) * 111 = 192,64
156,2 - 192,64 = -36,44

but in game I have a free mana pool of 222 and when I cast my IS it gets back to 222 everytime. So I am not missing any mana regen to sustain it. Either there is something wrong with the formular or with me.

Edit: ok I think I finally got it. After reading a few times. So this calculates how high my unreserved mana pool has to be to cast it without problems. So I have to calculate as last step "Mana cost of skill" + the -36,44 right? I am I wrong again?

I am no natvie English speaker so maybe I just get it all wrong. Would be nice if you could clarify that :D

_Tiem I have a mana Pool from 205 but im not short on mana I can constantly spam it with out going oom.
So I also dont exactly get it how your calculation works.

(0,33 * 2) * 100 = 66
(135,3 / 66) * 88 = 180,4
135,3 - 180,4 = -45,1

So I dont know I can spamm it without beeing oom I dont miss mana....

OK, you're right. I dropped Celestial Punishment and just got the additional 3 spell damage nodes by the start, which nets me 31% spell damage to everything (not just frozen) from the 39% (25% only to frozen) I had originally. Same node consumption. I guess if I want to stick with cold, for now, that's the best I'm gonna get. Till I get more levels and can remap down to the left to make use of the dex node conversion with Fertile Mind. Using one Perandus Signet makes it harder to get the damage boost from the Int nodes like you have.

Thanks for the info about WI. I swapped out a few less useful jewels for better ones :)

No, you're over on mana actually. And I think I found an easier way of formulating this. Just take A and divide it by your mana regen.

If your mana regen per second is 135.3, you take 66% of that, which would be 89.1 in your case. And just compare that with your mana cost for the skill, which is 88 for your WIs.

So even if your mana pool was 88, you could spam WI all day long and not oom. Okay, we'll call that v3.0 ;)

But anyway, you have too much in either your mana pool or your mana regen as you don't need one or the other. You can drop your mana regen down a bit and have your mana pool cover the loss. Or you can drop your mana pool down as you don't need that much considering your regen covers the skill. If you're not casting anything else, then technically all you need is 88 mana and 135 mana regen :)

Hello, i am trying to build this character (will post mu gear tomorrow) but i had a doubt, since i will be using taste of hate and rumis, do you thin it would be worth to take the witch flask nodes?

ok I have noo idea what 3 nodes you are getting to get 31% spell damage to everything. Nothing I can see adds up to that total.

In the build you linked you had 5 nodes stretching from the jewel to celestial Punishment which gave you
20 Int
14% elemental damage
25% damage to frozen
5% chance to freeze

I suggested you refund those 5 points and instead take two Int travel nodes to get retribution and the witch starting 16% and 12% damage nodes for a total of
30 Int
10 Strength
42% spell damage
5% cast speed

As you can see those nodes are objectively better in damage and int while also giving some cast speed :)

I normally wouldn't recommend a 12% spell damage node as its low value for my build but if you only have one Perandus ring then Int is a bit less overpowered for you as those who are using my build.
