you could certainly use shav. Pain Attunement certainly is strong and you you could reallocate the points i use on jewels towards more ES, in this case you would get the lvl 95 tree like this (i did not unspec jewels here):

this build is more dps oriented, but since i was really aiming towards being able to tank those 1 hit KOs, i would have to reevaluate everything.
you do gain some defensive stats here because you are able to run Arctic Armour:

here you have the option to use double curse like i do or use the 3 points for +18 ES or jewel node.
in this situation i would probably also reallocate some points to get more ES. many options here, one of them is getting the hybrid cluster on the right from witch and use the life to ES jewel instead.
i would also drop molten shell links completely and run a blood magic + Enlighten lvl4 + Discipline + Arctic Armour here. with the extra 4% reduced mana reserved node and blood magick lvl 21 i use, if my calculations are correct it is pposssible. the auras to be run on Mana could be either Purity of fire + Lightning+ Ice + LVL 4 Enlighten. Or drop 2 purity and run Determination instead. this is situational.

another good option is to go Blood Magic Route:

you loose the curse and ES and gain some strength so you can drop that one str node.
with lvl 4 Enlightens you can run: 3 Purity Auras , discipline and Determination.
you would also just have to swap the 3 viridian +2 mana jewels for 3 jewels with Life gained for each enemy hit by your attacks.
that would cover all the life cost and you would be able to maintain ZO.

alternatively you could always drop ZO and go Vaal Pact route as well.

So many possible scenarios here.

all in all you would have higher defensive stats since for example you could have Grace and Determination up for Uber trio fight ( i cant have both) and possibly AA, but lower ES pool.
i cant run the math for EHP but it sounds good to me.

i was planning to get a shav later and give it a try.

the advantage here is you are lowering your ES pool but raising your Defenses (in some cases that is), so like in the example i provided before you would benefit more from Leech and somewhat less from regen (very hard to explain, but it is in situatiopns where my current build would have similar mitigation like max res levels and higher ES. if you really need more on this point i will try to elaborate later.).


Conclusion:
With my current build i run just 2 auras: Discipline and Determination.
the Blood Magic scenario allows you to run 3 Purity Auras, Discipline, Determination, AA, and with the right jewels have enough life gain on hit, AND you have more damage in most scenarios due to PA (but possibly have to drop +1 curse nodes and you woill have less ES obviously)
but in sertain situations like for example the uber fight i would drop Determination and run 2 Purity Auras and dicipline. in this case our elemental defences will be similar for this particular fight (save for AA) and i will have a bigger buffer.

it all comes down to testing but my feeling is you will obtain very good results. like i explained previously, i would love to try more stuff, namely Shavs, but i dont play alot now, too busy, and i cant supportthe upgrade costs to play aroun with all that gear (i would need 1 or 2 lvl 4 enligten and 6l shav. i sold mine)

PA dps boost is great as well. this also makes your leech more effective by 30% and your ES pool is lower. so it takes less tame to heal back to full.

i am about to lvl up to 95, so i will try running Tri Curse build for now and see how it goes. i will probably run Ele weakness, Conductivity, Enfeeble. for most scenarios that is enough damage i would say.
if i were to run LL shav i would certainly keep the core of my tree and respec either Blood Magic or use blood magic gem for auras and see which version yields best results. thatnks to that extra DPS boost from PA i could unspec some jewels from DPS towards ES points or ES jewels and up my ES pool that way.
being able to run 3 purity Auras is a huge boost and the main difference here. also you need less RES on gear as well.
it sounds good on paper, i would have to test and see. VP version here might be a better option with voidbringer gloves to close the ES gap even more and even better if you can get the +1 s and lvl 21 Purity auras. then you get +1 max res.


I know my answer is incomplete, but i am bad with calculating EHP and it takes time. My goal for this build was to be able to avoid 1 hit KOs in most situations because this is the real danger. damage is scondary. i get a much better gaming experience with slower gameplay but to be able to avoid those "wf killed me here just now" situations. EHP buffer is fairly important here.

i will try to do this at the next opportunity. i dont play alot currently and running uber is not profitable in the short term either.

from what i remember i think i had Determination up for Vaal fight and EV and Armour flasks up when i took the smash last time. it took me down to probably below 20% ES if i remember.
i could run AA as well, i dont run it now because i have my shield colors fixed so it is very troublesome. i would also need lvl 4 enlighten

i will try to pay attention next time though. Keep in mind i went through sooo many iterations on my tree that i dont even remember which version it was. the latest version is the most solid overall and the one i play all maps with (my goal was to chis alch vaal and run ALL maps except Blood magic) but for each scenario/fight there are ways to tweak the tree. if uber is your goal, i would have to double check which version is best, but likely Vaal Pact.

Could you make some videos to showcase your Uber tanking? Don't get me wrong, I'm interested in any build that can facetank Uber bosses and has good DPS, but would like to see some videos before I spend a ton of currency for the ES gear pieces.

i have made some small video clips of map bosses with very hard mods (and i dont even swap for life leech in mjolner and shavs ring which are a HUGE boost in survivability) i can upload but they are very big in size. i have never uploaded a video, which is the best platform that does not require gmail account other than youtube? how can i compress the video? i looked up some tutorials and i could not find a simple drag and drop kind software/site for uploading like imgur for images, any tips?

i play with all settings set to lowest, but i play on a laptop, so it is a struggle.

i would not mind recording a run but now mortal set prices are fairly high in standart and uber runs only make sense in medium-long run. i have been mapping to get another Core map i could record, so i'd rather do that. Core Malachai is not that hard though you might say even though it is considered the hardest content in game.. i still cant figure out what kind of damage type he uses for his smash? halph phys-fire? or something like that? last time i was not able to tank that (it is very easy to dodge though) but i did not haveIR at the time.

dont jump the gun just yet then, wait for me to upload something. i am currently testing and tweaking my build for the best map experience though, so i might have to revert back to a previous version for uber, i really dont know, i would have to test if current version is good for Uber.
i would also have to borrow the lvl4 enlighten again from someone since it is a must for Uber Atziri fight to be able to run POF POL Discipline. and i dont have POF 20 anymore.
i was working my way towards tri curse setup for maps, so this is my latest iteration, but for this setup i loose some ES buffer which is crucial for tanking uber vaal smash, so i have to revert that back.

dont get me wrong, you dont need to revert back and forth every time, but for the best uber experience the setup is different then for mapping. i think i mentioned it multiple times already.
trio is the easy part though, so that is good news. i have noticed however that i have to kill Tentacle mob first, then dual striker and then cycloner to be able to tank. if i leave dual striker last, it is a rough ride.

i'll try to farm some hope pieces now, and record uber when i can.

the difference here is VP, i tried to keep stat requirements up.
another huge difference is Aura nodes. with those 3 nodes up top and 1 at the bottom you get +1 max res from lvl 20 Purity, that would put you at 99 Lightning resist and 98 Fire with legacy Safells Frame. you can up that by getting the +1 Voidbringer gloves (you should be using those with VP anyways, so you can keep similar ES levels) and lvl 21 POF and Lightning to get 100 Lightning and 99fire res (you could also drop one aura effect node bottom as wel). i currently run 98 lightning 97 fire Res with my version.


now there are other ways to cap max resist if your only goal is elemental immunity. get a +1 max res Tabula rasa for example (but you are vulnerable to spear then and still have to evade Double blast). also you could reroute the path near the +1 max fire res node for 100 fire res cap. (not to mention the impossible to get +1 max res volls devotion)
you could drop Discipline as well and just run Empower lvl 4 with 2 purity auras and Enlighten. that will give you the +1 resist
in that case i would just grab +1 Rainbowstrides and use lvl 3 empower+enlighten lvl 3. that is the cheapest way probably. and those boots give you good base stats as well.
all that is possible, but then you are really focusing on this one fight.
point is it is not hard to get to 100Max res (and you can drop discipline too to put POI instead for 99 cold res too then) but that depletes your ES pool and lives you vulnerable to Phys damage.
Alternatively you could run Alpha's Howl as well. With lvl 21 purity gems and 3 aura nodes up top that would put you at the +2 max res (1 from reaching lvl 23 and 1 from increased effect of auras) with my gear swapping for this setup i still hover above 10k ES, it is enough for spear damage.

so many options here, from cheap to very expensive ones.

this setup will allow to cap resistances with ease.

i will try to run Uber if i can find a decently priced set now, if not, later.

EDIT 2

so i tested just now. if i had 2 lvl 21 purity auras, i can swap helm for Alphas howl and get 23 lvl purity auras and 22 discipline. that puts me at 98 fire res 99 lightning res.
swapping the 3 points in curse nodes in to aura cluster up top puts me at +1 max res on top for a 99 and 100 resist.
better yet, using Voidbringers +1 i can get 23 purity auras and keep the helm for much higher es and 99/100 max res respectively.
if i dont want to lose the curse node, i can lose the crit node top left, especially with voidbringers that makes sense.
running Empower lvl 4 is the other option. -300 ES from discipline that i would have to loose to be able to run POF and POL.

i have added some more examples of maps. i do have a recording of those fights as well. i have not figured out how to upload it though.
also i did try the new softare for recording as advise in the thread. in the first tries of making a video i had a black screen for some reason. sound was there but the picture was black . no idea how that happened... i did lose some good footage of 82 core and some more...
as far as core map goes, i tried a very hard rol (i always roll the hardest mods i can to make sure the build is as good as it can possibly be) and it was a corrupted 82 core:



the map was easy up to malachai. with those mods i could not tank his smash, everything else was not a problem. as far as the fight goes, facetank all attacks except the malachai smash. i am not very good player so i was not able to outrun smash all the time. does anyone know what type of damage is malachai smash? i dont se it in wiki. i could not figure out best setup for tanking the smash yet.

i have also once again respecced the tree a bit, now i run 1 less curse and run the curse inc effect cluster instead.

i will try to make some more footage, but i am almost out of currency now, so i promise nothing.

On a separate note, Safell's Frame is a great option for most scenarios so dont hesitate to start out with it. also if need be you can replace the shav ring with any ring. try the +1 curse ring, it can be a cheap and strong stats boost. many options here.

this is mainly for the Uber Atziri Fight, so as you imagine safe for her Empowered flameblast, she is even more straightforward now.

and as i explained previously, Uber Vaals and Trio are not a problem, especially the trio is easy. literally the mobs in the map are harder.

with all the testing i have burned though all my currency so i literally have 0 currency now. (i had to buy gems and voids,etc) and i burned some currency testing CORE map some more, so now i am broke. i dont play much either so if i get the currency for 1 more uber run to make a clean recording, i will. but it is a currency sink.

now there is 1 way to imrove the build, get lvl 100, but i do not play much so i do not think i will get to 96.

at lvl 100 i would either pick more damage or es or 1 extra curse (i had to revert back to 2 curse setup to affortd the aura cluster. with a non corr Volls, the difference is 2 points since i barely meet the STR requirement, so getting back that 24 str, gets 1 point back from the tree).

i think this is one of the more powerful all around builds out there right now, and i follow most others in development.

I don't know what software you have been using so far or what you have in terms of rendering software but,

You should use OBS to record, it can be downloaded here: https://obsproject.com/ it uses very few resources and provides average quality for videos

Next you should decide what video editor you could use

for simple video rendering you really don't need to change much, just render your file into an an avi or mp4 file and then login to your youtube, on the homepage of youtube in the top right corner you should find a white icon/box with the word 'upload' click it and then either drag and drop your rendered file into youtube, or click in the centered image where it says to drag and drop and select your file, select a title, tag, and a short description for your video and then let it upload and then let youtube render it. Afterwards just take the link of your fully rendered video and plop it in your thread.

Hey man, I'm enjoying the build and seeing you make it better, but I think you need to make the OP more succinct.

Go hit L95 and use that experience to figure out what's the single best (your favorite) setup for mapping.

Then do a couple uber runs and decide what's the best setup for uber.

Having a bunch of alternatives with or without long explanations is annoying and not really helpful.

I have played this build for 2 weeks now and I have to say I really like it. I used to play low life-VP version but didn't enjoy it because I could die so easily.
I am ES/regen oriented (14.5K / 1.5K regen with my regular shield, 12.4K with Saffel's) and feel great in most maps and regular Atziri.

My goal is now to try über Atziri and would probably need some advice, as I currently don't have the currencies to just try it out and see what is not working.
I feel like I may be missing 3 things for über:
- I don't have VP or Acuity, only regen+normal leech with a 20/20 gem.
- I have no armour (I didn't pick IR). Would the Trio fight be fine with 4 endurance chages/IC+ID setup on CWDT? how hard does Atziri hit with her spear?
- Crit chance to regen my flask fast enough (only 30% with 4 power charges up)


Thoughts on that?
