They won't last more than a second on white mobs. I can shock white mobs with this set up (done it in 68 maps)



Literally my ONLY source of lightning damage is that bow. Also had static blows though.

You also have Quill Rain reducing your lightning damage, by the way. Chain raises my damage a little then lowers it with the 50% less damage.

I'm currently lvl 31, following this build
I'm doing fairly ok, but I live on the edge

I just specced into Blood Magic, because I couldn't sustain EA's mana cost
And that was definetly better, the problem is I'm constantly low life.

I'm trying to get as many life nodes as possible first, so I won't have trouble.

I only have 900 life

With how much life do you think one should go Blood Magic?

Have you got any tips/hints? Any nodes I should be taking first than others?

900 life is a bit low. I think I had around 1100 when I transitioned at level 32.

If you feel uncomfortable, by all means, go back to an old spec for a few levels. EA doesn't start getting really strong until a while later. There is no set amount of life to have if you want to go blood magic. For me, what's more important is getting enough life regen. Yes, a lot of that does come from having a large enough life pool, but you need to be sure to get as many life regen nodes as you can early.

The most important nodes for the build are: Resolute Technique (so your EA never misses), Blood Magic, Elemental Equilibrium (it is by far the biggest damage booster for you), the burn damage nodes near templar, and Iron Reflexes. I roughly value the nodes in that order. So, after getting RT and BM, you'll want to go and pick up EE and the templar burn damage as quickly as you are comfortable with (meaning you need to make sure your hp etc is in order first). To be honest, if you have good armor gear, I would consider forgoing IR all together (it was much stronger when your evasion was first increased by dex before being converted to armor).

Other than that, my build is really only a strong outline for you. The build is very easy to experiment with once you get those nodes and some good hp gear, so feel free to mess around. For example, I've been experimenting with Enduring Cry and the fire damage nodes near BM recently. Deltrus and a few others have suggested going with dual curses rather than EE for group play, and theuberclips has even got a spec that utilizes Voltaxis to great effect. Have fun! The build is very safe, so you should have a lot of room to mess around.

Just finished my map challenge (would have completed sooner but I was having fun with my Templar and witch). All maps run solo (all self found) at rare quality with varied mods, finished at level 86.

Only Mods I refuse to run are -max res combined with monsters deal X% addition ele damage. also, 0 regen maps are a bitch. Ele reflect really isn't too bad, you just have to be careful.

Heads up to anyone in hardcore, 77 Shrine piety is a complete bitch solo....

I got to level 87 and 66% on my EA Marauder. I'll probably play some more in the next few days but I doubt I will level up in that time. haha. So I'll go ahead and post my post-Anarchy experience and my build.


I didn't link my chest piece as I sold it a week ago for some extra money because I will be using Kaoms in a couple of days anyway. I'm buying a 90 life, 40 res, 40 res, 30 chaos res quiver thats on SC also, so my quiver will be replaced. Pretty happy with how my gear ended up.


This is my currently planned skill tree for once I hit level 88 and have purchased that quiver. Im currently specced into the 2x 12% all res nodes, but with the quiver I won't need them so I am able to spec back into Amplify and the 1% hp regen node.

I had about 30 deaths in 4 months of Anarchy. If I had to estimate. 15 or so were to desync. 10 were to reflect, most often reflect under some water, 2-3 to Merciless Piety because I attempted her far too early, and a few were to the Crematorium boss in a minus max map because we decided that no matter how many deaths it took we were gonna kill her because we had just leveled. haha. :D

Edit: Equipped my kaom's and my life went 6k -> 9.3k, that investment definately feels like it's paying off. :D Still gotta trade for that quiver and a few 20/20 gems my friend was holding for me.
