Ugrade your gloves, 2nd ring, and neck. Neck should preferably have 70+ life and % fire damage.

I think mana is and will be your main issue, because as you want to make your (already amazing) EA gem really powerfull, u want to get a 5L, and my EA currently costs 85 life per shot - which is a lot if you shoot at ~3.6 attacks per second and use mana on top of that.

One big thing I saw in your passive tree is that you have used 9 (!) nodes just to get to the "Amplify" node at the templar start. This node is not worth the struggle mate, considering you already have the "Blast Radius" at the witch area.
If I was you and would play this on Onslaught (respect for that, I would not have the balls, nor the connection) I would immediately spec out of those 9 nodes and invest them into ES/Armor - or basically whatever gives you max survivability. If you feel you dont do enouth damage yet, you have the very best opportunity to take the "Immolation" nodes, right next to your current path (in the middle of the witch and templar tree start areas). These will boost your dps a lot, trust me. But beware of reflect mobs and ele reflect maps.

Next big thing is: get rid of aaaaall the many many nodes you go from Vaal Pact down to Unweavering Stance. I had US once and trust me, it is not worth the somewhat ~15 nodes u invested to get it. Even if you want it, respecc to this path, because you went a very un-benefitial way through the tree, which costs you the lot of 5 (!) nodes! But I would just skip Unweavering Stance tbh, and the +15% Attack Speed node is not very important with this build as well, but u can get it if you want.

U should also get "Elemental Adaptation" at the Marauder Tree. If you got capped resists it helps a lot with tanking ele damage.

Another thing is that if you skip Unweavering Stance (or even if you dont) I would make my way down to the "Crystal Skin" nodes and the "Ondars Cutle" node at the Ranger tree. As you use many +ES +EV nodes you will most likely have quite high EV and dodge chance later, so doubling the chance to dodge projectiles is amazing I think, plus the chance to avoid status ailments like frozen, shocked and ingited should be really good.

I am really no expert on CI builds and I never played a single CI character, but this is how I think your final CI-EA build should look like (with Unweavering Stance;)

It now uses 2 nodes more than the one you posted before, but I think it is way more viable for Onslaught now. Just keep one thing in mind: once u got a 5L, your damage wont be an issue anymore, but your survivability will still be. Especially on Onslaught. So better invest into more ES,EV,resists and whatever makes u more beefy.

Yea... I think thief's torment would be one of the only ways to make this build viable with mana... And even with that, I still think it would be a long shot.
Is a +2 bow gem with ias better than quill rain late game?

Yea... If it adds fire damage, it's unusable. I feel that Quill Rain is better anyway... Even with +3.
