Explosive Arrow Marauder (Updated for Release)
Anyone know if this quiver will trigger EE or not? Only 1-2 fire damage. Managed to buy it for only an exalt. I will post my full gear set in a few days. With Poe.xyz.is and good knowlege of this build, I am putting together a sick magic find / max hp set. IGN: @Deltrus

" Hmm... The thing I was thinking is that quill rain has 50% damage effectiveness, chain has 50% damage effectiveness and split arrow has 80% damage effectiveness. I will have around 50% increased fire damage from gear. So, the actual range is .2 - .6. Then, it is also reduced by my ranged attack totem (if I use it). PoE rounds down so unless the enemy is cursed first then it shouldn't trigger it. I'm a masochist and playing a Shadow version of this build during the 1 month race. Yes, you heard that right. With mana. If anyone has questions on how that goes, I'll gladly answer it.
Just one advice for people reading this and thinking "Should I try it without blood magic and with mana?". BAN THOSE THOUGHTS instantly! It's possible but a lot harder to pull off than this build. This is a very very thorough and good build, really liking my own spin-off but I'm sure it will never be a strong as a marauder. " Why did you pay 1ex for something that might screw your EE over? :D The best way to find out is simply trying on some mobs and hovering for resists. Mine is little worse, but has the ele dmg i need and was only 3 chaos ;) Since noone answered it so far, here again: What are the projectile dmg nodes for? Is that for some super late game build without Quill Rain? |

" The projectile nodes damage buff explosive arrow explosion damage. They aren't 100% required. I'd get them on softcore but not hardcore. 3 chaos is a pretty good deal for your quiver. I knew I would be able to sell mine back for at least 1 ex, so no biggy if it doesn't work. It should tho, and if it does then it is pretty much as good of a quiver as I will get. IGN: @Deltrus

" In my experience, extremely low elemental damage ratings can get reduced to zero against enemies with high resistance. I had this happen with a 1-2 damage lightning ring the moment I entered Merciless; EE was hitting most emenies but a few enemies would take FOREVER to kill and their resistances didn't change after hitting them a few times. I have two questions about this build:
1. Could I also use: EA + Fork + Chance to Ignite + Proliferation + Increased Burn Damage? Would that be viable? I thought with Fork I can charge up to 3 monsters at once with EA, plus it has a really low mana multiplicator. And as the burning damage is the main source of damage, the Increased gem might be a good add. 2. Wouldn't Carcass Jack be a great armor for this build? Because of the increased area dmg and radius, plus Life, ES/EV and resists? Please help me out with your opinion, I wonder if I should buy a Carcass for 1-2 ex to try it (Im just lvl 58 with my Marauder and currently respecced because I wanna play a build that is not so gear dependant and can provide me IIR/IIQ). Maybe u can give me advice on this plan as well :) |

" 1. The arrow only actually only attaches if it doesn't fork. So if you want to hit a lone target none of your arrows will actually hit. 2. Carcass jack is amazing for this build. Kaom's is much better, but Carcass Jack is great if you can't afford Kaom's. As for advice on IIR/IIQ, I suggest searching http://poe.xyz.is/ for gear. For belt and quiver, you would search with the parameter "(pseudo)(total) +% resistances" and for high hp. Those two equipment slots can't have any IIR/IIQ so you want to get as much resists on them as possible. For gloves, boots, and head you want to have 15+ quantity and rarity, along with 90ish HP. I prefer to have my jewelry only focus on % fire damage and +#life. Here is the set I am building for IIR/IIQ:

I am still missing a high quantity/life/fire damage neck, a carcass jack, and a quill rain. I plan on going double andvarius once my gems are fully levelled and I get a kaom's. That is why I didn't get much resists on my rings. I will also be going for vitality, purity, and determination off my mana pool. Purity will help a lot towards going double andvarius. Note that I also try to go for strength on my gear, because it gives a lot of HP. When my set it complete, but before kaom's, I should have around 8k hp and 120 IIR/IIQ with gems. The double andvarius will be crazy good when I eventually get it. On the subject of unique chests, Cloak of Flame is also really strong with this build. It grants a flat 16% damage reduction (assuming capped resists), and it makes boss fights and dangerous single-target engagements pretty easy with the drastically increased burn duration and the higher chance to ignite.
